big shot and cuttlebug are manual die cutters, in other words you buy a pre shaped die and put it through the machine and can cut fabric, felt, card, chipboard etc etc

sillhouette, cricut, pazzles are electronic cutting machines which means with the excepttion of the cricut you can take any shape either draw in the software that comes with the machine, our get a shape off the net or even a jpeg, tiff, gif and turn them into a cutting template.

cricut uses cartridges which again can be costly.

i used to sell the craft robo (same as silhouette) but only would cut lightweitgh card and wouldnt cut fabric that good. i also design and sell basic tutorials for that machine.

i now only sell the pazzles inspiration its more money but does so much more and cuts alot bigger.

it will cut fabric you have to use a stiffening ive used bondaaweb and it cuts great

    hope that helps

i wonder if they have changed the blade or something as mine seems to cut fabric no prob at all with no rough edges.

Afternoon - what an array of beautiful makes. Well done everyone

I've been knitting rather than sewing, but did get my machine out to make the lining for my funky Knitting Bag...

I made the needles to hold the stitches (which are glued so that they stay on) from dowel and beads I had in the house :money:

I hope to finish the bags I started before going away and I have loads of orders from my family for stuff so I should be busy sewing for a while :D

i thought i would show you all another thing you can do with electronic cutters.

this little birdie was loosely based on something i found on the net ages ago but i changed and added to it and made it into a cutting file for the electronic cutter.

this afternoon i decided to make it in to a rhinestone template which i cut out and have ironed onto some fabric and made a cushion.

its made using 10ss rhinestones and this cushion is about 15x15, the birdie is about 5.5x6.5inch
