@rufus, could you wash it inside an old duvet cover to get it to rag up without blocking the machine? You could then shake that out in the garden to get rid of bits?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

Agree with Kaz Rufus.
When felting, I place things in a pillowcase to save the machine, so an old quilt cover should work for you.
The quilt and bag both look great - well done.]
Loving all the makes on here. I've been knitting instead of sewing for a while as I can do it while watching TV.
Just been donated a huge bag of mohair wool and some lace, ribbons and elastic, so need to decide what to make.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Do you understand German well then?
Well probably not these days, but at the time I used to practise with my sister who is fluent. (she used to work for a racing team that had a lot of links with Germany). But I learnt enough of the terms for sewing. Then of course I have been practised enough in sewing to work out the basics in order of construction.
I really should practise the languages I once used to use a lot. Now I dont regulary use languages, I have forgotten them. Once upon a time I was reasonable (up to O level standard) in Portuguese, French and german! Ha. I am lost with all of them now.
My sister now lives in France, and is fluent, my mother is pretty good at French and even my brother is now.! So I am lagging far behind them all. Oh well. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I did German at school and hated it, despite being top of my year every year and I did French to A-level. But like you, I've forgotten most of it. I have a few novels in French that I keep meaning to read but never get round to.
I can also say 'Go f**k yourself' and 'Okay' in Greek0 -

naughty you!
I can say come here in greek. Ella. Thankyou- epharisto, (probably not spelt that way though).I used to speak a bit more, but I cannot remember it now. (Used to live in Cyprus when i was little).
Back to the sewing.
My friend loved the walking stick bag, and has suggested I make more and sell them on Fleabay. So we will see.
Along with the possibilities of the turkey saddles made earlier and the bags, then its given me a lot to try to do.
I have made tissue covers too. And a wallet to hold credit cards. But need to adapt a bit before I turn out anymore.:rotfl:

The first phrase I mentioned is 'gar may so' and okay is 'daxi' - both written as you'd spell them, no idea on the spellingBack to the sewing.

That's what people keep saying to me, that I should sell bags but I'm not good enough to sell them to people I don't know yet :eek:0 -

Well I have never ever thought that my sewing was good enough, but have managed to sell all my bags and everyone has loved them. Or so they say, and they have come back for more bags too. So I think its how we percieve what we make.
You should just try it and see what happens.
(Or get someone in the know to take a look and judge them for you before floating them in the market place).
Now that my son has decided to move out, and drop out of college it means that I have a massive drop in income coming around the corner. So I will need to use up all my fabrics and turn them into some cash.! Try and get a business started, that will work around my 3 year old carer duties and my disabilities with my spondylitis.:o
Time to bath said 3 year old now. Hopefully I will get some bags cut out tonight. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Thanks for the tip about the duvet cover, sounds like a good idea xx0

Whenever I was a duvet cover, sheet and pillow cases, they all always end up inside the duvet cover when they come out of the washing machine anyway0
