Hi Irishgirl - I don't know where in NI you are, but Easons in Coleraine sells a big range of quilting and sewing magazines (I can't bring myself to buy them though, as they're so expensive!)

Here is a close up. Its a crazy 9 patch. Not sure if its a bit too "busy" or not but I do like it.

Well, ISOM, I think I may have a headstart on you with fabric. I have an old duvet cover of DD's which is pink gingham one side and pink pattern the other side. It was ready to go in the charity bag but I've pulled it back out and dismantled it. Once my cutting mat arrives and my templates are here, I shall start cutting. I have a blue striped duvet cover of DS's which he won't use again so that will be the next victim. I remembered that there was a green jungle print duvet cover somewhere too so I will heave that out and cannibalise it.
A little gutted that I got rid of a lush duvet cover which DD had when she was small because she threw up all over it. Now, I would have been able to salvage some of the fabric.
Love the cushions everyone. Right, I'm off to get ready for work, night all.

today's progress! Wont do this every day but nice for the first bit!!
Tried to get close up so you can see the stitches...am really chuffed as you can hardly see them. I am also feeling v close to my granny who used to make these ...can feel her smiling down on me and just wish we had been able to share the joy of sewing with her but I had no interest at the time...
