I love these, they look sort of Japanese IYKWIM. Are they easter egg holders?
Yeah I would have had to do them a bit bigger for little easter eggs but I was only putting things like mini egg bags, bags of chocolate eggs and creme egg sort of stuff in them.Getting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!

Here's a similar tutorial with a normal presser foot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlwVGoL4zV0&NR=1
I picked up a set of tweezers earlier for £3.99 from The Range earlier. I also bought an A3 cutting mat, a 9" pair of pinking shears, a rotary cutter and a metal ruler. I came home and checked the prices online and will be returning the cutting mat and the pinking shears as I have been able to order them from ebay and saved £9. I also had enough money in paypal to cover it which I hadn't realised as I thought I had withdrawn it all.
I'm a bit lost with the acrylic templates though, I want to get one because I think it will save hours and hours of fannying around for me but I seem to be unable to source any.
I need a 3.5" square and a drunkards path 3.5" template.
I did consider printing out the template and taking it to a signwriter to see if they can print it off. At least then, I'll be able to get it marked too.
What do you guys do for templates when you have tons and tons of shapes to cut?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Hi everyone
I played a crafty todaymy DS's school is having a Spring fair on the 9th so are in need of raffle prizes, I took a make-up bag and a tote bag I had made in for a prize. The teachers were in the staff room and said I should do a stall with all my sewing bits
(I have been in 2 minds if I should ask to do one or not)
I know if I do it I will sell a lot this time so Im pleased they have asked me to do it
I brought a bag pattern from here http://cadouri-din-inima.blogspot.com/2010/03/march-giveaway.html
I have cut out the pattern and can't wait for the weekend to get started on it. You also get the other bag patterns and if the big one goes ok Im going to make some mini ones for the stallGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Hi all,
Not been on here for AGES! Missing it! Been super busy with other things, work often gets in the way, which is just sooooo rude!
I made my first dress last weekend! Cant believe ive actually made one! I used Simplicity 6980, the third one along on the photo. I love it, but it needs altering. Im a size 14, a 12 at a push with some clothes! But used the size 16 on this pattern, could have probably got away with doing the size 14. The back is really big on me though, ive got a quite small back so should have used a smaller size on the back, never mind. The top has elastic so im going to cut a nick in the dress, drag the elastic through, and sew up again, hopefully this will fix the problem, and then ill post a pic of it :j
I love blogs at the minute, joined a load to follow, but hoping someone can help me with that. Ive noticed that when I log into blogger, it comes up with Dashboard, "manage blogs" and under this is "Reading List" and under the tab "blogs im following" its only showing a handful of them im following. And then there is a list of updates next to this with peoples recent posts, but its only updating obviously with the ones that are on my blogs im following list, but this isnt the full list. However, If i go onto a blog that im following, and click on my name under followers, i can see all the sites ive joined that way, but not when im logged in??!! Any help appreciated!

That's a lovely dress - think I may pop to Boyes and see what patterns they have in if I get a flyer from work!
Does anyone use a dressmakers dummy? I have been toying with the idea of getting one for years but is an expensive decoration if I don't use it!!! I suppose at the moment I am more likely to make clothes for the girls than myself but I fancy being able to get exact measurements with the dummy and not have to worry about will it or won't it fit!0 -

You can make one using an old T- shirt and duct tape. Just keep wrapping round and round your arms and torso and then get a friend to cut you out. Stick the two halves back together and there you go. I think you can padd out the inside to make it more solid too. Keep meaning to do this as it sounds like fun but not got round to it yet!0 -
LOL xxvickixx - that made me laugh :rotfl: Can just us all being wrapped up like a mummy :T
I nearly bought a tailors dummy after I saw one in the local charity shop, ummed and ahhed on the way home and rang up later and it had gone, was gutted!
Loving all the makes every has been doing (Hart the lippy fabric is gorgeous!)
I've only managed to make a couple of pincushions over the weekend - will try and post pics tonight.
But have been reading up all the reviews on the patterns I bought recently and I'm now fully inspried to make clothes....I think
By the way can't remember who was asking a few pages back about patterns and seam allowances, but Burda magazine patterns do not have seam allowances, (their normal patterns do though I think) you have to trace off the pieces from the horrendously complicated paper sheets in themiddle of the mag, and then add seam allownaces too.....not sure I'm gonna buy that mag again.0 -
I was looking at dressmaker dummy it was out of my price range then i googled dressmaker dummy and stumbled upon you tube tutorials on making one and there are loads of tutorials on you tube :-) Nat I have that pattern! waiting on the fabric to arrive hopefully tomorrow i ordered a jersey knit oneI am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:
Weight loss so far 2 stones 6lbs!! :j:j0
