Started it in may last year - in an area with really hard to reach clients - not many with english as a first language, isolated communities etc so weare struggling with numbers big time - hoping to train another 10 ps soon and offer ps at all the childrens centre baby groups etc as people dont seem to want to come to the bf group. People really want home visits but its just too complicated, nevermind - going off topic here!0 -
Thanks Bunny. It's my first time with a pattern and I am glad that the dress is like you say all hanging fromunder the bust with a pretty full skirt (this is what largely appeals to me lol!). The bit on the inside is helpful as it shows how to adjust for a non standard figure, but think I will just go with the bust measurement, although I had been measuring it wrong. The bust measurement seems to be the fullest part which puts me as a 12 , but now I wonder if I do that will the band under the bust be too baggy? If it is would it be easily adusted?
Sorry to ask so many questions before I even get started. Patterns really intimidate me.
Edited to add - thanks Wendy, yes I was doing it all wrong lol! And no - waist is much bigger also, thanks to DS!
Go with the bust measurement. The band underneath should be relatively easy to adjust if necessary.0 -

Good call. Will probably do it in a couple of weeks when I am staying with my parents so I should have no other obligations, I think this is going to require quite a lot more concentration than I usually have, and I can call on my Mum for assistance! I will let you know how it goes.0 -

I'm sure it will be a triumphant success, and after that there will be no stopping you. You've done the only dispiriting bit, which is the measuring (although I'd be thrilled if I still had your measurments).
And my thanks button is back! Sorry to everyone on this lovely friendly thread who must have thought I was mean and rude.0 -
irishgirl the linky isnt my quilt but one I would love to make! As for washing quilts I always do after Ive finished...dont know why just me but do them at 40%...I always buy 100% cotton and use quilting thread so dont have the worry of bleeding thread or shrinking fabric which would be devastating after all that work!
Did post earlier but it got eaten! Have started two projects - my goddaughters single quilt (machine) and my own throw which will be hand stitched using paper piecing hexagons. Got THE most gorgeous fabric today - liberty caesar in green - piccy below doesent do cols justice - an exquisite deep emerald green

I'm making all my own wedding flowers with felt and buttons, and I'm having lots of trouble sourcing yellow felt, that isn't mustard, or neon or tinged with green.
I managed to get some from ebay, and stupidly only ordered a coupld of squares. Now i need more and can't get any the same colour!! I used the same seller the second time. I've now bought three lots and they're all wrong.
The felt in hobbycraft is too bright. I want a lemon/pale yellow. I really can't get over the stress this is causing me, i wish i'd never started!
Any ideas?
Thanks

If you aren't sure about the colour in the picture you could give them a ring and ask about it or if they can get you another one in. They are really helpful. Or I am happy to pop in an try get a picture on my camera to show it in real light if that is any betterGetting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!
