Oh My Goodness - have just found via google that it has only moved venues - the Event Centre at the Yroskshire Showground told me it had moved to Birmingham the little tinkers:eek:
Is now on in November so I have put it in my diary - anyone else from the North East / North Yorkshire going or has been and is it still as good? Am really looking forward to this - OH will look after the girls so I am going to make a day of it, will try and be good though - I ended up buying a bit of random stuff last time for crafts I 'fancied' trying but in reality I probably knew I never would :rotfl:
I still have some bags of felting wool around somewhere lol!
TIA x0 -

Show at the great yorkshire showground in Harrogate about four years ago - sadly it was the last one they had there as it moved to Birmingham and instead of being a quick 45 mins away it would be a good four hours now so haven't been since:(
I went on my own so I could do exactly as I pleased and it was great, I spoke to a few people and shared tables with some ladies at lunchtime as well as watching the fashion shows and spending quite a bit (only about half still unused but packed away safely for a rainy day;)).
Now the twins are a bit older I would love to go again but don't fancy that commute!! I am going to google now to see what else I can find but if anyone has any ideas for local to Teesside shows please can you let me know? I only went the once as I was pregnant the year after.
I was absolutley amazed at the things people made - a girls had made a bodice with a lace overlay and handsewn flowers between the layers, it was so gorgeous - I want to get into making nice and quirky things for the girls as they grow up.
There is a show at Newcastle Arena soon

your [atchwork looks great and i see you have had answers so are now sorted.
as for quilting you can do anything, i did straight line stitching and wavy line stitching on this and it looks fine
i see you are now the owner of a silhouette, i sed to use and sell the craft robo, i still design and sell basic tutorials for it.
but i use and sell the pazzles electronic cutter now its a bigger machine.
ive done loads of glass etching and vinyl cutting you should get good results from your sil.
ive also recently cut fabric with my pazzles i did two elephants and appliqued them onto cushions.
i used bondaweb ultra
here they are just cut and on my blog you can see them used on the cushions0 -

Thanks HMO. Your quilting looks lovely. I guess Im a bit scared that I ruin it TBH (its my first attempt!) I still havent used my Silhouette yet but cant wait to try it. Those elephants look brilliant. Perfect in fact. I havent heard of bondaweb ultra but will go and look on ebay. I have normal bondaweb but not sure if it will work. Ive seen the Pazzles machine and it looks amazing but was a bit too expensive. I wish I had your job. I would love to have a job selling craft stuff! Is the Pazzles vinyl the same kind of prices as others or would I best better buying it from you?
sorry everyone, realise this is a sewing forum but Im intrigued by vinyl too at the moment!! x0 -
I don't know anything about cutting vinyl myself but I recently bought some from 2 different ebayers and the results are fantastic, you can see them on my blog. I decorated ED bedroom and stuck about 150 pieces over the room and they make such an impact. I'm thinking going to be decorating the kitchen/dining area in the next few months and I'd like to put some vinyl on the walls there as well. Its great and so cheap, looks great on glass too!0

I went 2 years ago and it was fantastic. Its about a 10min walk, downhill, so beware coming back! from the train station. I am a very large lady and I managed the walk. Have fun. I am just trying to convince my DH that we could go to NEC this weekend and visit his mum on the way back to Leeds but not winning yet as he knows my reason for going.:rotfl::rotfl: Just "checking" sewing machines out as I am saving for a new one!!Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -

HMO your runner looks goregous! did you just use bondaweb on the fabric before cutting it? a few years ago i used freezer paper on the back of the fabric when using the sizzix... now i have the cricut and wondering if i can cut fabric with itI am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:
Weight loss so far 2 stones 6lbs!! :j:j0 -
Been missing in action, and doubt I will have the time to re read everything. the thread moves so fast.
I have been sewing my bags, and they have started to sell on Ebay! So I am quite happy. Trying them on a starting price now, instead of a lower 99p option. Not sure if it will help or not, but its becoming a little bit of an obsession to make a bag a day now! Cannot always do it with my physical problems and my commitments to DGD and the family, but its certainly giving me something to focus on.!
I will try and put some time aside to re read what I have missed.
Certainly interested in machines that cut out patches/appliques as that would help my not so steady hands!
Time for the nursery run. Where does the time go?When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
When making the buttercup bags, is it better to use fusible fleece or batting? If the answer is fusible fleece, where do people tend to buy it from? I think ebay only has two listings.0
