Mooloo your bag is lovely. That little Westie is sweet.

Here is a monkey that I've just made and is now on her way to her new home

I used just fusible interfacing and the bag just seemed a little... well, floppy.

i used curtain weight fabric so mine were fine.

What gorgeous bags. I am going to make myself for the summer I hope.
HMO the elephants are so cute. I havevn't got into cutting machines and hopefully will resist as I simply do not have any more space for crafty things but seeing what you have done makes me wonder...
Pennib, another goreous monkey! I took my first steps into crochet on Monday and made a small strip - just enough for a tiny hat so I think I will make a scarf to go with and make a monkey to wear them. I have had to give the others I made bandanas as I can't knit so this is quite exciting!

Thanks for all the bag advice people. Once I've stopped procrastinating about making my dress, I've got a bag cut out and ready to go and I get paid on Friday so I'll buy some heavyweight interfacing. The stuff I have was bought from a fabric shop and they had no idea what weight it was, but it doesn'y feel very heavyweight to me.

My Aunt has just told me she is off to the NEC Thursday to a quilting exhibition, the lucky lady :o
I'm off to the NEC on Thursday (oooh, that's tomorrow :j!) as well, to the Sewing for Pleasure Show (including Fashion Embroidery & Stitch and Hobbycraft shows too!). Going with a friend, we plan on trying out a few craft tutorials if we can...possibly the same or parting then meeting up later...we'll see how it goes.

Back to sewing: I won two spring-loaded darning feet at the weekend...and they are the same! Well, one is all metal with a plastic foot, and the other is part plastic/part metal. It was impossible to tell that they were the same from their piccies though...:o Going to have a go at a patchwork potholder in a mo and see how I got on. Got some lovely tea towels from D-M a couple of weeks ago, perfect colours for my kitchen!

Whichever one I get on best with I will keep. Then I will try and sell the other, along with the instructions that came with one of them (I'll keep a copy). Since I got both for just under £6 (inc postage)...and others (the same as far as I can see) are going for £11 or more...I should make back a bit of money. :D

Ooh can't wait to get going! I'll post piccies once I am done!

ooh envy, I know its a sin but I would love to go to the NEC this weekend but DH says no as he knows my motive is to get him to buy me the new sewing machine. To be fair it really isn't in our budget yet so need to save a bit longer Have fun there everyone
