Thanks HMO. Your quilting looks lovely. I guess Im a bit scared that I ruin it TBH (its my first attempt!) I still havent used my Silhouette yet but cant wait to try it. Those elephants look brilliant. Perfect in fact. I havent heard of bondaweb ultra but will go and look on ebay. I have normal bondaweb but not sure if it will work. Ive seen the Pazzles machine and it looks amazing but was a bit too expensive. I wish I had your job. I would love to have a job selling craft stuff! Is the Pazzles vinyl the same kind of prices as others or would I best better buying it from you?

sorry everyone, realise this is a sewing forum but Im intrigued by vinyl too at the moment!! x

i sell pazzles vinyl but its all the same, i sell it by the roll or by the 12x12 piece loads of colours. link to my website on my blog

just click on the shop page for the info

HMO your runner looks goregous! did you just use bondaweb on the fabric before cutting it? a few years ago i used freezer paper on the back of the fabric when using the sizzix... now i have the cricut and wondering if i can cut fabric with it

thank you the runner was one of the first things i think i made last year when i bought my machine its ontop of the toy box in our craft/sewing room.

i have tried a few things but found the bondaweb ultra works best in the electronic cutter.

bit i cut fabric and felt all the time in my cuttlebug using sizzix dies and dont use anything at all.

the squares for this bag were cut with a cuttlebug and sizzix bigz die and no backing at all and i have others on my blog.

When making the buttercup bags, is it better to use fusible fleece or batting? If the answer is fusible fleece, where do people tend to buy it from? I think ebay only has two listings.

i didnt use either i used fusable interfacing on my linning only.

I used just fusible interfacing and the bag just seemed a little... well, floppy.

Nykied, I think if doing pleats fusible fleece is probably easier but you can use either TBH

Mooloo, maybe you should think about opening an Etsy or Folksy shop. I think (it may have changed though) that you stuff just remains on there until it sells rather than you only being able to put it on for a set amount of time before having to pay again.

I also just interfaced the lining, but I used the heavy stuff as that was all I had to hand. Seemed to do the job - I used my buttercup bag ALL summer! (even though I never did get round to sewing up the gap I had left in the lining for turning the bag round)

Thankyou I will look into it. Wasnt sure there would be much of an interest so testing on Ebay has at least given me the first steps!.

This is the bag I have made today, using the printable fabric my Mum and I found on the internet. (Sorry picture is a bit big!)Handbags2011001.jpg

I have been busy sewing like mad as the craft stall is on Thursday and Im still not sure if Im ready for it lol.
Im at work tomorrow so Ive had to get as much done today as poss.
I will let you all know how it went Thursday night :D.

nykied I have only ever used medium or heavy interfacing in my buttercup bags (I find medium better) I fuse it to the lining as I find it better for me that way.
Some of my other bags I have used 2oz wadding and just sewn it onto the outer fabric.

    Love the bag hmo :D
My Aunt has just told me she is off to the NEC Thursday to a quilting exhibition, the lucky lady :o
