hart looooove the birdie fabric!! Well done you! Spent the morning doing quilt (after taking mum to the docs!) and done one strip...only 20 odd left to go!! Have added a patch as the hang was enough but would have been an uneven end (ie one end a patch square and the other plain) which didnt think looked right! Thankfully I have extra fabric but will def need to get more for the back! piccies to follow!!

I wish I could get some more of the bird fabric, it's ideal for wash bags but I have found some waterproof fabric that this seller has for making covers for nappies but Ive not used it yet :o
the seller is pocketbots on ebay . I can't put a link on without showing my details :(

The pouches are on skip to my lou blog (http://www.skiptomylou.org/2010/04/27/pleated-pouch-tutorial/)

Gosh everybodies makes are so lovely, well done hmo's little girl on making such a lovely cushion.
And your cushions look really nice with the border.

Hart your bags are lovely as always. 15 mins wow make sure you don't needle through your fingers by
    mistake!!

Rufus that cushion is brilliant your brother is going to love it. I don't think I could give it away!

ISOM; your forging ahead with your quilt. I am actually quilting mine now, by hand, so might be sometime! Would love a quilting machine but don't do enough to qualify for one!!

Avster; What nice bags, ideal for the weekly shop and for free, can't get better than that.
Look forward to seeing what you are going to do with rest of fabric. (wish I had friends that had
    fabric stashes!)

theyre painted onto wet canvass with acyclic mixedwith a fabric bonding fluid
then I embroider over them with a machine
and then sew on .....well allsorts of things really, beads sequins - ribbons

some are just embroidered - like the vine flowers and the 1/4 flower - without painting - but that takes soooo much longer ....

HMO your cushions are gorgeous, will check out Ikea for the scalloped fleeces

Hart the make-up pouches are fab and I'm in awe that you can rustle one up complete with zip and lining in 15 mins! Think I must sew really slooooooooowly LOL!

Rufus, that cushions is so lovely - your brother will treasure it I'm sure. Your mum holding the lickle baby brings a tear to my eye!

Cheeswright, keep posting pics big or small LOL The cushions are so inspiring. Love it when people combine different skills, you're very talented.

Been checking out Sew Hip mag which you can buy from newsstand.co.uk site. I like this magazine subscription site as you can buy single issues, or subscribe for as long as you want. Useful for those who can't find the magazine in their local supermarket. I buy Burda from it when I can afford it :)

Also been mooching around a few blogs, and made me think, what do you call yourself in terms of sewing? I say my hobby is dressmaking cos I originally made mainly clothes altho not sure it really describes me now, lots of bloggers call themselves "sewists"...but I don't like that at all! Not sure why, its just the look of the word seems wrong...prob just me being wierd! :rotfl:
