Some good fabrics on the 'here' shop - any idea what the 'free quilting tool' they give you if you order two FQ packs?

On another note, just had my first sewing disaster. The patterned fleece I bought two weeks ago turns out not to be fleece. It's actually nasty stuff that sheds and frays disguised as fleece. It was in the shop as 'patterned pleece', so I'm half tempted to take it back.

Although, as I had to cut out the squares for the hat three times as I did it wrong the first two times, I'm not sure they'll accept it ;)

Any ideas on making this bag: http://www.warehousefabricsinc.com/blog/pleated-lined-handbag/ smaller? I've not adapted a pattern before.

I dont know sorry. The promotion wasnt on when I ordered mine. The bundles that I bought are no longer on the site and the ones they do have are not great imo, but it is worth having a nose every now & then.

The service was really good - I had a phonecall to say that one of my bundles would be slightly different to the one on the web (even though it stated that they may vary on the web) and did I still want to go ahead with the order.

The only thing was that they were 1/4 yards not metres.

I looked in one CS today and bought a cover for a kid's bed. It's one third yellow fleece, one third red and one third green. At £3, it was a bargain, but the woman behind the counter looked scandalised when I said I was going cut it up ;)

I am waiting for a pattern to arrive. What do you think? No I am not experienced quilter but I am experienced at sewing! LOL http://dontlooknow.typepad.com/dont_look_now/2008/03/rainbow-lollipo.html. I wont quilt it to the extent it is on the web site. I also have a friend who has her own quilt fabric shop so I am thinking of enrolling on a course with her to pick up some tips and skills.

That's gorgeous sethsgran and I'm sure you'll be fine doing it, judging from the other stuff you've made. A quilting course sounds like a good idea, whereabouts in Yorkshire is the shop? I'm near Wetherby.

Ive just ordered my first ever fat quarter:Dwell,a mystery pack from ebay-I had to send a message saying what predominant colours I liked and I get sent 10 fat quarters.I thought it would be a good way to get started. And as I forgot to pick up my medication today (or is that yesterday?) Ive been going through some of your blogs and have a load of little bits Id like to try to see where it takes my confidence.
Sethsgran I love that blog, and I think the quilt is very pretty.I've managed to get myself involved in the Pay it forward game on FB,so thought I might contemplate having a go at that cushion:eek:
Jemtom I love the idea of the curtain around the cabin bed.My DS1 has one too and I think I might consider doing one for him when I get around to his room after half term. How did you hang them?
Tamster I just looked at your blog and love it...and Im almost tempted to "cosy up to you" for more how to's;) I think we're in "the same region" and I could use a teacher like you for DS.Also, that piccy of your boys made me think of my own:)
  • i've been noseying through the pictures and you are all brilliant!!!
