Hello all you wonderful peeps
I am after a bit of sewing machine advice. Firstly I am brand new to them so I am not sure of all the proper names of part of the sewing machine but I will do my best to describe what I need to know.
I had a delta experssions portable mini sewing machine for xmas. I used it on xmas day and all was working fine, just had a play with it make sure I could do straight lines etc. Unfortunately the instructions got thrown out by accident so I can't refer to them.
Today I have to come to it and accidentally pulled the thread out of the needle. I have threaded the needle back in (not sure if there is a specific way to do this) and followed an online video for a different machine about trying to create a loop. I have managed to create a loop but this didnt seem to help. I have 2 threads, 1 through the needle and 1 up from the bobbin. However my machine wont actually sew. When trying it sort of attempts to attach the thread to the fabric but then the thread falls out exceptionally easily. The bobbin thread is not attaching to anything and only seems to be tangling.
I am really confused and getting really frustratedIf anyone could give me any advice I would REALLY appreciate it.
thanks ever so much

I can't give you any advice babymoo, but this might make you laugh - I tried to get my (full size) machine to pick up the bobbin thread yesterday for about five minutes, wondering why it just wouldn't do it. Then I realised I'd changed the top thread but forgotten to thread the needle :rotfl:0

My first go at posting a picture, but this is the first thing I've made on my machine, a case for my Kindle:0

Im not very au fait about this machine but have you just threaded the needle straight from the bit where the actual spool sits and not put it round via the bit that makes the needle go up and down? Im thinking you would be best posting piccies so we can see the machine and help you from there.0 -
