Lovely quilt. Like the hugs and kisses that you've added. Do you have a quilting machine?

This a painting come sewing project. The background is teabag paper painted randomly and then abstract machine stitching, with a patchwork boat on top. Finished picture on me homepage.

  • Ouch Midge - a lady did that on a Beginners Patchwork course I was on! The teacher was so calm and knew exactly what to do. The lady was a bit shocked but her finger didn't even bleed!

I love the quilting - it must of taken longer than the actual quilt top!

And Pennib that picture is great. I want to have a little "play" like that soon - just got to clear all my "to do" list first lol

    Hi all

My finger never hurt surprisingly. I pulled the needle through and it hardly bled. The machine was more upset than me as it took me a whole day to get the dam thing working properly again.

Georgiababy - i have been doing some craft fairs but they seem to be very hit and miss. At the last two they were very poorly attended and a few of us were left out of pocket.Am actually contemplating getting a few crafters that i know and seeing if we can club together to hire a hall and organize a regular fair in town.

    Pennib- that picture is fab

    I've asked Santa for loads
Tone Finnegar - Sew Pretty Homestyle, Tildas Christmas Ideas, Sew Pretty Christmas Homestyle
Clothes - Using patterns, Patternmaking, Simple Sewing, Weekend Sewing, Amy Butler, Sewing in No Time

of course I have no idea what they are like as Santa hasn't brought them yet, but thats what I fancy. I'm trying to learn to make my own clothes patterns but other than that just general sewing, trying to get brave enought to try a quilt!!!

Midge - I really like your quilts, they are beautiful. Love the colours on them.

Pennib - that picture is fab, did you do any of the embroidery free arm? I had a try at doing some but couldnt control the machine well enough, think I would have to practice more at it. I wanted to embroider over some hand writing but it made a right mess of it. I was using a hoop but still couldnt seem to do it but I will definitely have another go when I get some free time to play about.

I have made some quilts and other sewing bits, I have pictures on my blog if anyone is interested. I dont often post of this thread, just the Thrifty Gifty ones but am always reading this one and loving all the makes. lots of very talented people on here, Rufus xx
