    Thanks Sarah,
I have now managed to get the bobbin thread up (with a bit of manual intervention from me) but although the machine runs fine, absolutely no stitches form-Im just left with a line of thread not attached to the material.....aargh why are sewing machines so "difficult"????(its not even a fancymachine-just basic)

Hi it obviously isn't catching the bobbin thread still but being a novice myself I couldn't tell you why. You might have more luck on the sewing forum.

hi, i had exactly this problem the other week - tried all you said in your other post, even fiddled with the bobbin thread tension to no availe. i also took everything off that i could - removed various parts with a screwdriver (carefully putting bits down in order the way round they were in the machine!). i then dusted inside all i could.

anyway, that didnt help so as a last ditch measure to save face before taking to to the repairers, i changed both threads again and the needle again and for some totally unknown reason it began to work. fingers crossed it stays that way. that probably wont help other than to let you know you aren't alone!! GOOD LUCK!!

i'm more of a lurker than a poster but i bought this today in my asda and it's fab . i've just bought a new machine after doing no sewing for years. Thought i'd start simple and some great makes in it. I'll crawl back in my corner now. lol.

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone, or indeed Craftygranny, who bought HOMESTYLE SEWING could tell me about the Puppy Cushion pattern?

i've had a good look at the mag in its wrapper and whilst there's some lovely things there i cant really justify the cost just for one pattern - unless it is awesome and non-figure-out-able!

is the puppy applique? is it simple strip patchwork squares? (do i really need the pattern?) lol!!

  • Hello.
We are trying to sell some curtain material at the moment but we have been asked about how much fabric would be needed for a certain size.
    This is the question:

    Hello
I've got two windows, the smaller is 89" across (measuring the rail) and 90" drop (below the window sill), the larger is 163" across and 108" to the floor. How much fabric would I need to buy in order to do double length pencil pleat curtains?

Please could someone help us with these measurements so we may actually be able to sell some?

My partner lost his job and because he was owed money the material was given as a form of payment!! It is 140cms wide.

Any help would really be appreciated, thanks. :)

How would I know if its the timing and how would it have been damaged?

Have a look at this link
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtpt2y7AAg0

And google sewing machine timing for more info.
The machine can go out of sync for a vaiety of reasons, eg pulling thro the fabric under the foot. I´m afraid it´s usually a repair job by a professional
