Does anyone know the correct name for the material used for school trousers (boys). Litle mans trouser just arrived he is 7 ordered an 8 and about 2" to short. Next size up will be baggy on him. Anyone else made school trousers.

In the old days - ah yes, I remember them well :rotfl:- there would be a decent amount of hem on them. These days the amount is minute. Were you thinking of buying some material and adding it on to the bottom? If so it will be difficult finding an exact match.

No was wandering about making some, I od have a petern in the back of the cupboard somewhere for shorts/trousers so may dig that out. Just looked at the label and it says polyester & viscose. So will try that thanks.

Just take it slow swap to your zipper foot and you will be away. I still sew really slowly sometimes then I'll catch the foot and go whizzing away.

Danemi, where are the piccies of your bag!! I want to see them!! :)

If I were you and you wanna practice putting a zip in, I would personally use this tute. I used it the first time I was putting in a zip with lining and found it really easy. Same principal for a make up bag but just box the sides if you need to. PM me if you need any help. x
