How about this http://www.skiptomylou.org/2010/04/27/pleated-pouch-tutorial/
to go with the pleated bag.
That's going to go into my 'must make' pile!0 -

I'm sure teflon is made from PTFE - or original type teflon was anyway. I could be completely wrong, but there's something nagging at the back of my mind somewhere. PTFE tape isn't actually sticky though is it, so it wouldn't stick to the foot.0 -

I should imagine you've pretty well blunted it by now trying to sew leather with it! Apparently (and I know people here will disagree, but I'm just saying what a sewing teacher told me so don't shoot the messenger
) you should use a new needle for each thing you sew as they get blunt - even though you might not be able to see it with your naked eye. She said that in one class she had a woman whose machine was making a horrible clunk, clunk sound as she sewed, and the woman proudly told her she had never changed her needle in over 20 years! Once she changed the needle it went much better.
I agree with you, you should start with a new needle, especially when you are sewing different types of fabrics!. I am always changing mine. then I wonder why I have so many loose machine needles in my pin boxes!! I cant seem to bare to throw them out!:oWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I'm the same I always leave the case it came out of to put it back into so I don't get the ballpoint needles and sharps mixed up. I do wonder how long I can get away with that for!!!
Incidently I bought a new box of needles lately and they all broke on the same project:eek::eek::eek: Wasn't even a particularly thick fabric or anything but bang they all went, never had that happen before, maybe I was doing something wrong.....0 -

Shelley the crayon rolls are really easy and look great when they are done. there is a link on my blog to the tuturial i use. just click on crayon roll from the labels on the lefthand side of the blog and you should find a link in the posts i have done.:DV 12500 B 8300 N 1900 Oct £51/£1550 -
I work in a textiles department of a secondry school in Essex and I am having a really tough time finding somewhere to sharpen our shears - anyone with any recommendations would be gratfully recieved, it would save our small budget being spent on new shears.Fibro-Warrior0

Were they a different make from your usual ones? Some needles are just rubbish.0 -
