  • Here is a piccie on my latest two monkeys who have been adopted by my friend. I've also had an order for another 5 so I'm going to be very busy monkey making :)

I know it's probably been posted somewhere, but can someone point me in the right direction for sock monkey making?

I did do a search for all the posts with sock monkeys in them, and found stardrops42's post, which made me go to her website, and I have to say her cakes are fantastic!

Tete That's a great skirt, retro and the real deal in 70's fabric. What a shame you've gone off it....bet it would go down a storm in colleges/uni's etc. And it fits great, I think you should give it an airing around town.

Ah thanks, I might wear it to work one of these days, we'll see!

Love Postman Pat Cuddles and Georgia - that dress is fab, you'd never know it had been tampered with!

I've totally got my sewing mojo back this last week - Kandi posted about a half price pattern sale in her blog and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's still on on Friday when I get paid as I have a dress in mind and the fabric in mind to use!

  • Dunno what everyone is charging for sock monkeys but the other days I saw some being sold for £12 which I thought was a bit steep! But then thats cos I know a little about how to make one from you guys. Needless I didn't buy one......

    :eek::eek:

Mind you it could be a nice little earner coming up to Christmas.

The only sewing I did this weekend were some simple book bags for my DD2's class - the woman who normally makes them has retired so I offered. Luckily there are only 24 children in her class!
  • Hiya Guys,

You lot have been busy again - you are all putting me to shame:D

Georgia - i love that dress and shawl it looks amazing.
Cuddles - how cute is your postman pat. i really wish i could sew!!!
Tell meits friday - i recently made a leather look bag and didn't have any problems (i used a denim needle) but i did have to sew the handle on by hand as it was too many layers for my machine and i had the same problem. maybe try using a different needle?

    Pootle love those patterns
Shelley those sock monkeys are very cute.
Tete - i love your skirt its very retro. I wish i was brave enought to attempt one but really don't think i could live it down if it started falling apart whilst i'm wearing it. I show myself up enough by being dizzy without flashing to everyone as well:rotfl:

My mum asked me to make a bag for my auntie for her birthday

My auntie loved it and has now ordered 3 off me to give to her firends for xmas. She has also ordered some crayon rolls and my other auntie has ordered some pump bags and crayon rolls so i'm so chuffed. I can't believe that i only started sewing earlier this year and people actually want to buy my things!!!

  • I love that bag Dizzytina - wish I had the confidence to tackle them! I love the idea of the crayon rolls are they difficult to do ?
