I love the colour combo!
Otherwise I would think of sewing in the liner, leaving space for the handles to go in after that. However, it would depend on what the pattern calls for. Sorry That is a rubbish explaination
That's what I was thinking of doing, but when the bag is made up you attach the lining and bag at the top. I know someone else on here has made this bag before, so I'll have to have a look and see who it was, then ask them.
There is a link to the pattern on this thread - it's the pleated bag. I don't have the link because I've printed off the pattern so don't need the link any more. I'm in the middle of baking at the moment so don't have time to look atm, but if you look back over the past few pages you should see it.0 -

Here is my latest bag. Same as one I did last week but different fabric. Lined it with a gorgeous duck egg blue cotton that has a shimmery effect. More piccies on my blog.
Edit: Justamum, just read your post (this is the pleated lined bag - really like yours btw.) The handles shouldnt double over. If you pin them to the right side of your bag (with the nice side of your handle facing the right side of the fabric), when you turn the right way round after stitching with lining, they will just sit flat and dont need doubled over.0 -
I am happy, I received a parcel the other day only took 3.5weeks which is good going here.
I had ordered
some shirring eleastic
dragonfly print fabric
some lovely red &white floral fabric
but best of all my 2 quilters rule one is 6"x24" and the other is 12.5"x12.5". Hopefully they will make cutting out a lot easier.
Just need to save up for my large cutting mat.Mortgage

I love that material!
I think I understand what you mean. I'll try that next time. I must say the instructions were extremely vague - something along the lines of 'attach the bags any way you like', which isn't particularly useful if you haven't made a bag before!
At the moment I'm making a lining for a bag I crocheted a while ago so I can actually put something in it without it stretching. I'm also going to put different handles on it. As it involves a bit of sewing I'll post photos when I've done it.0 -
Hippychick; That is one scary sock rabbit!!
Those bags are beautiful I think the material is gorrrrgggeous. (inside and out) thanks for the
link will add that to my ever ending list.0 -
Hello everyone! Im back lol
Have been back at the family caravan in Hurley - this time the husband came! So still not much sewing but I have finally updated my blog!
I have added some pictures of my quilt top that I have made using half-square triangles.
Now I need to crack on with my sewing - not long till Christmas and I am hoping to make most of my gifts this year!0 -
Oh dear I have been a little naughty, went to Ikea.
I bought 7x1m fabric pieces and some new pinking shears for 7.95euros which I thought was quite cheap.
And they work unlike my others although they were handed down from my Grandma.Mortgage

This part of my stash that I'm slowly building up is ear-marked for a future quilt/project. I love the batik squares they are very zingy and bright and great patterns. I think I might start collecting those.
I have put a picture on my blog of the patchwork squares that I hope to make into a quilt for my bedroom. Need to think about what pattern to go for tho.0 -
