  • That's very clever. I'll remember that if I ever make a sock monkey.

Dizzytina: Lovely bird and don't blame your daughter from claiming it, if I lived at your house I would have as well!

Here is the start of an applique small cushion. It's no where near finished yet, am going to try and quilt it.....it might end up in the bin:o
Think I'm going to put the little bird in as a signature bit! Some of the bits arn't attached yet so can move stuff around still. Has anybody heard of tampodouring (think might have got that wrong) where you slit open the back and stuff some of the applique?

Tilda does that in the books that I have. They also make the applique sewn on the inside, with a backing, then turn through a slit in the backing, and stuff, then attach to the main fabric. Bit fiddly and time consuming, but a good effect I have to agree.

These (if I have done the link correctly) are the little bits and pieces I have been making this week, so far.

Pennib your cushion looks stunning already. i would love to have ago at something like are you following a tutorial or pattern? I haven't heard of tampouring i'm afraid although i'm sure some of the clever ladies on here will have.

Mooloo your bags are great. i love the heart one in particular. I am in the middle of making a faux leather bag at the moment for my friend. i have to say it has turned out better than i expected but i am struggling getting the straps to attach as the layers are too thick so i was thinking of handstitching them on but will need some new needles first.

Love both doorstops and the little bird, just gorgeous.
Pennib the applique looks really cute. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

We did that stuffed applique at school once but I didn't know it had a fancy name, We just poked a bit of stuffing through before it was totally sewn on. Looked really effective though.

re your handles could you get some sort of Rivet set? Punch it through? Not sure what I mean exactly, will have a think on, and see if I can search what I mean later, have a visitor due now so better go! x
