    I made this bag yesterday

I just need to adjust the strap slightly as it is higher on one side than the other
and this one I made today
    004-2.jpg005-2-1.jpg

The one I made today was made from a couple of teatowels I got from Dunelm for about 25p each, the lining is made from a Hobbs pillowcase I bought from a cs and the inner pockets from the emergency bundle I bought from fabric rehab.

Can't wait to see your piccies Danemi,
When I started the first one I honestly didn't think it would turn out so well,I don't usually have much paitience but the bag is just so easy peasy to make !
  • Hi All,

I've just bought some fabric, a nice fabric border, lining and interlining so that I can make a stab at creating curtains and was rather hoping for some advice.

It has not started well given that I have only bought enough fabric for one curtain and not a pair. Atleast that way I can only mess up one today!

Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether I need to sew a little hem in all the sides of the fabric beore I start to prevent it from unravelling. Particularly, the border that I'm about to sew. Should I hem the end of the border first before I sew it on given that the edge of the fabric will be on show.

The problem is that I don't know any of the terminology so I can't even explain the other option which is to sew it the wrong way up and then turn it over so that the edge of the fabric is NOT on show.

    I sound quite clueless don't I?!

LINED CURTAINS INSTRUCTIONS This should help.

Basically your lining is not as wide as the curtain fabric. Make up as a tube and turn right side out. This leaves a 2" border of the curtain fabric on the inside edge. Hem and add curtain tape.

  • Hi ladies, haven't been keeping up too well with the thread as I've been moving house and we don't have internet yet, so having to sneak my webby antics in during work! Just wanted to pop on and show you some bunting which I made for my friend's birthday, was very quick and easy, I'm definitely going to make some for myself one of these days!

Oh I'm sorry - it's huuuuuge! And blurred! :o More details and pics on my blog - *CLICK*

Hope that house moving and sorting will be much calmer after the weekend so I'll be able to get more sewing and internetting done and keep up a bit better!
