Well I took pity on my poor miserable sock monkey and unpicked his miserable mouth and turned it into a bit of a smile.

I also knit him a scarf as I thought perhaps he was miserable because he was cold

I promise to buy him some new eyes tomorrow as he is still a bit scary:

Yes I did make it with the same fabric and I suppose they would be nice and cosy if they actually fit and if I could face making the other one
:rotfl:I still have no idea how I managed to get the bottom of the slippers on the inside:doh: but in my defence the instructions aren't the easiest to follow:whistle:

Do you have to stiffen them at all or are they just all fabric? I would love to make some, but I will wait until I have mastered some more simple makes first.

Kandi he looks great:T If you take a look at my sock monkeys you will see that I always sew the eyes right next to each other (no gap between them) and place them right above the nose (again no gap) I think this gives them a cuter look, or maybe thats just me:D

The only bit you have to stiffen is the bottom outside sole. I used the iron on stuff.

Ahhh, yes I see they look lovely and not at all scary like mine. There will be a shelf of monkeys in my house of varying scaryness until I manage one like yours! :rotfl:

You have got me addicted to etsy now too, I have been surfing there for hours, there is some beautiful stuff on there, some brilliant creative people out there.

Our local library last year had a kind of book amnesty week where they said look just please bring our books back and for this week only the fines will be forgotten - think they were running low on books or something:rotfl::rotfl:I've got no excuse as our tiny local library is directly opposite my house... I still forget sometimes though! :rolleyes:

Sock monkey looks much happier - I love his little scarf Can anyone recommend a good site for sock monkey patterns? I'd love to have a go for my monkey mad eldests Christmas. I bought her one like on this blog for Christmas and she takes it everywhere now In fact this is her - she's also hoping to learn to sew when I get the machine up and running.

awww how cute is that monkey:D Here is the tutorial that I followed the first time I made a monkey http://www.web-goddess.org/writing/tutorial/Image0.html mine have changed a lot since I first followed that though, if you make enough you find your own style:D
