Also depends on the quality of the stuffing, I'm very fussy about my stuffing as some can go quite lumpy;) I've found that the big bag I get from Dunelm for £5.99 is usually quite good:D

I get mine from there as well :)

I made my first sock monkey last night, and he is not terribly good. I think I may have made his mouth too small?
Anyhow my DS (10) loved him to bits and screached when i showed him so he took it off to bed with him last night. About 20 mins later he came into my bed with the monkey telling me he had pulled his tail and it broke. Some of the stitches had come away - i think i overstuffed it, I'll take a bit stuffing out and repair him.

Poor thing didnt last an hour! :)

Im planning to post some pics in a bit....

Marvin was made from a ladies sock size 4-7 :D

ooh, really? that's excellent. I've got the bottom half of several knee high socks leftover after making hottie covers, so now they could have a new lease of life...
I think I'll have a go myself actually, give him his own little personality. Need to find something tweedy in a charity shop first :D Thanks for the pointers though!

my pleasure! I wasn't sure how to do it anyway!
