Thanks Pennib, I just hope they like them. It's quite scary giving something you've made. I think I've been unlucky so far with who I chose to give them to, I'd just be so happy with a handmade gift myself I forget that not everyone is so soft!
Love your taggies Vicki and wanted to say thanks again for the lovely jam you gave me. Tastes yummy and is very much appreciated. I'll have to make you some lemon curd in return.

I got my rehab emergency bundles today and have to say Im not very impressed. :(
I knew they would be scraps of fabric but TBH the bits I got look like the tat that they couldnt get rid of. Most of it has huge selvedge edges which are unusable and the bits are all squint so they are really thin at one end and fatter at the other. Maybe I was just unlucky but I wouldnt recommend them!

Hester my ones were 20cm x 20cm. So they are hand held toys. But there are baby blanket ones around as well.
They seem to be around that size or slightly larger, with between 12 and 16 ribbons around them. Different feel ribbons, but make sure that they are not wired etc for babies. You would know that anyway I am sure.!
    Grossgrain adds texture. :D

aw thanks love - visit to the library for applique could be combined with keeping the kids quiet for 10 mins hmm on the to do list definitely - tis a small library though so dont know what they will have but worth a go

Have a look at your County Councils library website to see what online services they offer.
I have a look at Amazon to see which books I am interested in then nip over to my county libraries website to see if the books I want are available anywhere. They will transfer them to your local library for you to collect for 25p.

Is anyone going to the creative crafts and sewsing show at Manchester in September? i am hoping to get tickets this week. Does anyone happen to know the discount code? it says tickets are £5.50 with a discount code but i don't have one so wondered if anyone else knows what it is.

Dizzytina, try RBN - it gives money off and a free mini ribbon voucher. Well, this is MSE!

Aww, sorry you're disappointed with the fabric. I've seen a bag somewhere that had been made using selvedge edges in a patchwork. It looked quite effective with all the writing and coloured dots on.

Can anyone help me i need a pattern for a comfy blankie and a ragdoll template

Any help is much appreciated Thanks x :A

I have just googled free rag doll patterns before coming on here.
There are lots available and some scared the whatsit out of me let alone a little one.
I think I'm going to get this Simplicity pattern 2387, Raggedy Ann and Me!
    http://jaycotts.co.uk/acatalog/__Simplicity_Craft.html

Do you think this is too babyish for a 7 year old?
Apart from having been one when I was younger I don't know too much about girls.
