aw thanks love - visit to the library for applique could be combined with keeping the kids quiet for 10 mins hmm on the to do list definitely - tis a small library though so dont know what they will have but worth a go
If you go online you can request books be sent to your library for loan from other libraries.
I have done this in the past ( online ) but it may be available in'store' too.
Perhaps look on Osborne, Amazon etc for books you'd like & see if they are available to loan via the library, def MSE.0 -

I knew they would be scraps of fabric but TBH the bits I got look like the tat that they couldnt get rid of. Most of it has huge selvedge edges which are unusable and the bits are all squint so they are really thin at one end and fatter at the other. Maybe I was just unlucky but I wouldnt recommend them!
Perhaps someone was on myside when they had sold out!!
Funnily enough my Sew mag arrived yesterday and they are featuring these bundles in the mag! Maybe they got sloppy as there will have been an increase in orders/ Still not an excuse though.
I have just received a gift of an envelope of beads from a broken necklace or two. Via a person from the next village who I have never ever met. I forgot to ask her who told her about me, I was in such a shock. So I have lots of pearls now to add to my bits and bobs.
The problem I now have is so many things I want to do, dont knw when I am going to find the time, and or which to make first!
Making hearts in a floral fabric some for an order and some for the market stall. But need to work a lot faster before I have any decent stock for the market. I dont get to sew as often as I thought I would especially now DGD is not sleeping in the day. I am not getting the respite during the day and then exhausted in the evening! Ah well such is life.
The lavender I ordered is smelling the place out! :rotfl:
I did put an order in from Croft Mills for some christmas fabric and it arrived today. Well happy even with the cost of postage ontop. Christmas is coming to us already! EEkWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Thanks for the advice everyone - have gone with one green and one terracotta.
They need collars, so I'm looking for a remnant of velet ribbon in the 2 colours - none to be had unless I go into the centre of town.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

They are the smallest ones on the pattern - 24cm.
I have weighted the bottom of the cat and the legs, so they can be used as a doorstop, or just ornamental.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

I am so debating whether or not to buy the pattern off ebay0 -
Q for everyone. Would you make baskets from fabric to go on a unit? This is ideally the look I'd like, but the only baskets I can find to fit are these which are reduced to £12 each in my local Tesco. I could either paint them or cover them in paper but I need 6. I could use tesco vouchers though so no real cost. They aren't very attractive though.
So back to the question do you think fabric boxes would be OK. Could I stengthen them with plywood by making them with pockets? It sounds complicated to make each side a pocket. What do you think?0 -
