Wow, I love that fabric, so delicate! And looks like you've done a really professional job on it too - not sure I'd like to post such big and close up pics of some of my work!! :undecided:

thats so kind of you - its my first proper project since I got a machine of my own. I didn't have any ric rac so made the piping out of some bought bias binding and christmas decoration hanging cord and I made up some of the measurements so really felt worries about what i'd produce. Thankfully you think its great so I'm a happy bunny!

Georgiababy; what a bummer giving away stuff and then wanting it at a later date.
Done that myself when we moved....got rid of some huge bags of off cuts, now I need them! Sure you can finish your projects, we will cheer you on. :0)

Well there's two skirts and I think one's nearly finished and the other's only just started, but they're from years ago and I was making them for work so I don't need them now (and they probably wouldn't fit).
Then there's five knitted jumpers and cardigan's and one of them was for a boyfriend who I was going out with in the 80s!

I've also got a blouse which my mum started making in the 50s (it was a cut out, ready to sew one she'd sent for out of a magazine and the postmark's on the envelope) so you can see it runs in the family.

Oh, just thought of something else but I have mentioned it before - my patchwork and I might actually do something with that!

    Hi everyone,

    Need some help please!!!!

I want to make this bag with the same material as shown (or similar material at least) but I cant find it anywhere in the UK. The only place I can find it on is fabric.com but they charge too much for international shipping to justify me buying it. Its for my older sisters birthday and I really want to make her it with similar fabric (unbeknown to her I just bought loads of michael miller stuff she said she liked but she just announced that she likes this better!!) If anyone has seen anything like it please please let me know. I want to make her something I know she will love. Thakns in advance. x

Wow everyone has been busy. I have been away all week with my little men at the inlaws caravan, so not much sewing this week.

I did make some half square triangles following this tutorial and have been busy cutting and squaring them up. They are all now ready to sew into a patchwork quilt for my eldest DS http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/09/lap-quilt-in-jiffy.html
    isnt it clever?

I am aiming for a pattern like this - http://www.flickr.com/photos/redpepperquilts/3702885552/in/set-72157607481499797/

I will be chain piecing, so hopefully I will be done in a couple of evenings. The only thing is before we went away, I planned the pattern out on my front room floor, took a photo and then I left my camera at the inlaws caravan, so now I have to wait till the inlaws return home on Sunday!

I was so looking forward to getting some sewing done this weekend!
