Well done rmac. Love the Beatrix Potter fabric, I'm a fan too!
Danemi - Sock monkeys are not as hard as they look. They are very forgiving as the stitches are hidden in the stuffing IYKWIM and the stuffing can be adjusted to compensate for any lines that aren't perfect. I've done two now (not putting photos on as one is for my friend little boy and she could well see it!) The first was with an old but clean sock and was much easier than the second one which I did with a brand new sock, the older one was less stretcy and easier to manage so could be a good place to start. Both took me about 2 hours start to finish and that included sorting out mistakes!
I'm sure if you can do the cube doorstop you can do this!
Pootleflump - will shout if I spot any fabric like that.0 -

I found the sock monkey easy to make, though my machine wasn't keen on sewing the socks so did most of it by hand. My problem is what do I do with all this stuff when I've finished making it, lol.
So far this hoiliday I've made bunting, button bracelets, cushions, sock monkeys & piggies & I know that apart from some of the bunting which was for my DD, the rest will sit in a cupboard for years til I eventually throw it away.

Need some help please!!!!
I want to make this bag with the same material as shown (or similar material at least) but I cant find it anywhere in the UK. The only place I can find it on is fabric.com but they charge too much for international shipping to justify me buying it. Its for my older sisters birthday and I really want to make her it with similar fabric (unbeknown to her I just bought loads of michael miller stuff she said she liked but she just announced that she likes this better!!) If anyone has seen anything like it please please let me know. I want to make her something I know she will love. Thakns in advance. x

awe, really? that's a shame. dont you have a cousin or friends child for the sock monkeys? maybe for christmas? otherwise, how about having a stall at a local sale, my local methodist church is always having little community sales.
if all else fails, maybe pick a charity you like and drop them off at the charity shop - tell them they are new handmade items made for them and they'll price and display them right and they'll fly outa the shop!Tamster150 wrote: »I am aiming for a pattern like this - http://www.flickr.com/photos/redpepperquilts/3702885552/in/set-72157607481499797/
