Here is Barry the Biker no2! He has lots of piercings...including a bellybutton and ear piercing....ouch. He has skull and crossbones and heart tatoo, a watch, chains and red hanky for greasy bikes! The back of his 'leather' has a picture of fire on it.
This is really brilliant! love it.!:TWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I like using duvet covers I have bought a few from our thrift shop. I am using this one at the mo

blue polka dot on the reverse side. so far have made doorstops, bunting and swim bag for DD3. Cheap way for me to buy
material and not so scared of making a mistake with it.
Oh thats a lovely cover.

They are great arent they. Now i have a couple of pairs of long striped socks, that could make a monkey. I shall have to look for the pattern. I remember seeing it somewhere on one of the Blogs. Just so many of them these days that I never remember where I saw what! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I found this site while trying to see why the stitches on the underside of my fabric are a bit loose. I thought it was really good and easy to identify the problem. I don't think I'm threading my machine quite right as I don't lift the foot up, never knew I should!

You will find that you can alter the tension on the dial on the front of the machine, usually, but also on the bobbin case. You can also make a difference with the Weight of the foot. There is usually a silver thing that looks like a nut and bolt at the top of the arm the foot is on. This can be pushed down to make it grip the fabric etc depending on the type of fabric that you use. The dogfeed also grips the fabric as it passes through between the foot and the plate.
Sorry, maybe I will have confused you with that. Wish I could do tutorials with pictures etc!
I will have to learn how to do all the technical stuff!! Sewing is easy. Machines are usually logical to work out. Its the computer and the photos that mess me up!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Thanks Mooloo.
The upper tension dial didn't make any difference at either extreme, so I think that it sounds feasible that the upper thread hasn't been going through the tension plates properly. I can't wait for DS to go to bed so I can have a play.
I've fiddled with everything and had given up, resigning myself to only making things where the underside doesn't show lol!
If it still doesn't work I will report back and see if anyone has any ideas.0 -
Pennib, I love your monkeys so much. I want to make one for DS, I'm thinking of doing a pirate with a bandana as that way I don't need to knit a hat (which I can't do). Where do you get the socks from and is there a link to a pattern?0
