Got a 10KG bag for £1.69 and have filled two pyramid doorstops and 9 chickens for pincushions, paperweights etc - hardly made a hole in the bag, and perfect weight. Far cheaper than rice or peas and won't attract vermin!!!
Just don't get it wet.
A question for you all. Would you recycle the polystyrene beans from a dogs bean bag into a children's bean bag?£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Rikki; No, personally I wouldn't. Unless there was a way to sterilise them first! (and then sterilise them again)0

yes i would. its double bagged, so wont come into contact with skin. but then again, what harm could it do anyway - if really worried, just give them a spray with an antibacterial spray or fabreze, inside a bin bag

For my own children who had already been in contact with the dog I might but for other children it would be no.
I know more than one child who is allergic to dogs. Having seen the terrible excema both chilldren suffer from when they have been near dogs, I wouldn't give a recycled dog bean bag to anyone other than my own children.0 -

I was going to say exactly the same. I bought some cat litter the other day. makes a nicer weight if you know what I mean. How do other people stuff doorstops. I use some cushion filling and then put in a carrier bag with the weight in. If that makes sense.Mortgage

Hi Rikki, No I wouldnt but if you using it for your own kids and you know that they wont have a reaction to it then dont think it would be a problem.0 -
