ok, so i'm excited i now know how to add photos!! (well, sort of. it wont accept copy and paste from my album, only from the thumbnails on flickr. odd.)
anyway, can i show you another little thing i made recently? His name is Hoot. He was originally part of a 80s tweed jacket i got in a charity shop, some vintage buttons and a twig.
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Hello! Room for another? I've been a serial lurker on MSE for a couple of years now and have recently got into sewing! I have been using my MIL's 40 year old dinosaur but have just treated myself to a brand new sparkly Brother sewing machine! It was on offer in Argos from about £150 to £116.
Anyhow here is what I have made so far :

Not sure if pictures will work - let's see!
Oh now I think I may have got carried away lol!:rotfl:

You lot are excellent, 23rd I love your owl he is very lovely I especially love your idea for a beak.
Traceylou your makes are brilliant, its great to post photos as sometimes a description does not do justice to what we have made, and it gives me ideas to steal!!
Can I ask, what is that little house thing and how did you make it? It looks like something I might want to steal
.
As for which socks for the monkeys - i have only just attempted my first one and someone more qualified may reply in a bit but I used a childs sock (age 10-12) for mine, its an ankle sock, if you use knee length you get monkeys with very very long legs, but they also look brilliant I think its personal taste. Im planning to do a couple of baby monkeys with baby socks. You can stand there and agonize........

Thought you guys might be interested in this offer http://www.craftyclub.net/UK/
3 issues of Sew magazine for £3 (I've looked through the last 3 pages & couldnt see if anyone has put it up, apologise if they have.
I bought an issue of it a couple of months ago as I liked the Free pattern that came with it and found it a really good mag.
Normally £5.99 and comes with a free pattern (they say its worth £7) each issue. Other projects inside to try out, clear instructions that are accessible for both beginners and more advanced.
I know this sounds like a sale spiel but I dont work for them, just thought it was a fab idea.
Now I'm off to look back on this thread at what you gals have been upto and save some project ideas
