Tilda is the trademark I think??? The publisher is David and Charles- the books are written by Tone Finnegar and there is also a Tilda range on the Panduro Hobby website.
The crafts are lovely in the books - I have them all.
Cheers Poppy, I'll do a bit of investigation tomorrowIn the meantime - here's my sewing machine... anyone got any ideas where I take it to be looked at? Make sure it works etc?
No practical help on servicing, but she's a lovely machine - I think all sewing machines are ladies. I've just christened my new Singer Edith because Edth Piaf was the first singer I thought of, and I've called my old Singer from 1967 Dusty because that was the first 60s singer I thought of, and she is a bit dusty!
I've spent a very pleasant evening getting to know Edith (and reacquainting myself with the unpicker!) and have got quite a bit of my dressmaking project skirt done. I think I may have cut the waistband a bit too small and there are a couple of bits that don't quite match up, but I'm pleased nevertheless and can't wait to crack on with it. Hoping for an absolute deluge of snow overnight so work is closed tomorrow but we've had none yet
ETA - love the monkeys Wendy, I like the one on the end's red hatWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Im loving the monkeys also. I made my first ever one tonight, I have been itching to make something and I had all of the bits to hand - dont think he will look like your arctic monkeys though!
Do you find it really difficult sewing socks on a machine - I have had to do the little ears by hand as the material was just too stretchy. Perhaps when I get better aquanited with my machine i can make a better job of it.
Anyhow, he is in pieces at the minute as Im too tired to finish him tonight, but I will post a pic tomorrow if I get him done.
Im praying for a snowed off work day!You can stand there and agonize........

I always sew my monkeys on the machine but I have to say it takes a few go's to get the hang of doing the ears, but the thing with sock monkeys is that they aren't meant to be perfect:D
I've just posted a "Ninja " sock monkey on my blog:DFeb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)
Diet starts today(31/12/16)! Only 18lbs to lose:eek:

The arctic sock monkeys are truly amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing.
Just doing a quick catch-up on the thread, it moves so fast!
Still haven't opened my sewing books, and my wanna do list is now longer than my 2010 projects done list (which only includes 2 items!!)
Thanks for keeping me inspired x0 -
Here's a cute little idea for valentines day ........... re: handwarmers, sure we could make them a little more prettier

This idea (without the rice) would convert to make a small cushion cover, especially if you added more hearts scattered across the cushion

Any room for another to join this thread?!
I have a fairly basic Janome machine, which I had for last Xmas, and have used it a little, along with doing an Intro to Dressmaking evening course last year, but I have lists and lists of things I want to make/alter/finish, and think I would be more motivated if I was recording my progress / exchanging tips etc with other like-minded sewers..If you'll have me that is...0
