Yes a giveway is just that, I make stuff and give it away! It is a thank you to the people on there who support and encourage me to do stuff and to raise the profile of my blog. It's rather MSE for the followers = free stuff and for me it's a bit of a boost to know that people would actually want my things that I made myself IYKWIM.
Thats a nice idea. I couldnt figure it out but I guess its exposure too which is great (particularly if you start selling stuff - which you should!!!) I wont enter as wouldnt feel right doing so and in any case I am pleased to just be following you and seeing all the lovely stuff you make!0 -
Thanks, no pressure I don't mind at all if you dont join but wondered why you wouldn't feel right doing so?You can stand there and agonize........

Some people use giveaways as a way of getting more traffic through their blogs and therefore earn more money from the advertising that they get. Dunno much about it myself but you can earn money from visitors, people clicking on adverts on your pages and also by sponsors. The more followers and subscribers you have the more you can charge/earn but before all the MSE'rs jump on to it I think you earn pennies and have to have LOADS of followers! You see a lot of US blogs with lots of sponsors and adverts on the sidebar but I don't think they earn a lot and of course then you have to keep your content regular and the quality good. Personally I can't be bothered, like Kandi my blog is a record for myself, its also an incentive to do more and to improve my quality cos I want people to look at my stuff, thats why I join in on link parties to get more people to look at it but thats because I'm needy and want approval rather than getting traffic to earn money:D:D:D0

I think giveaways are a lovely gesture. I'm planning on one when I reach 50, which won't be for a while yet!
I think it's nice to show appreciation to all the people who have taken the time to leave a nice comment, as when someone pays me a complement or asks a question it does give me a warm fuzzy!
It needed be expensive and in my case it certainly wont but I'm going to put thought into the prize and like Kandi it'll include something I made myself.0 -

Bunny, I personally think it will be fine because it will flow from just below the breastline downwards. I have a bit of a tummy (although I have huge boobs) and the dress Im currently making has the same kind of shape and its quite flattering as my tummy doesnt show because of where the joins are. Cant wait to see it once you have made it!! Love your blog BTW.0
