I have had 3 of those cantilever boxes so far! All bought from boot sales for £1-£2 ish. Two I painted and sold on ebay and the third is still waiting to be prettied for my own personal use. It came full to the brim of old sewing bits and pieces. I nearly burst when I saw it!
I buy most of my fabric in FQs from ebay too. Not the most cost effective way to buy it but it means I can usually buy a selection of 3 or 4 fabrics instead of a metre in one design. Dunelm is quite good too if you have one near you.
Ooh I love those boxes! Will have to get myself to a car boot sale;) I've just joined your blog and updated my own blog since yours put mine to shame:rotfl:Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

The five quilts I made for this Christmas were all single sized and each one cost me around £80 to make - even though I used a lot of fabric I already had! I see them in shops in town for £60 for a double then wonder why I put in so much effort.
Then again, I always embroider a label for the back with the recipient's name, who made it and the date and that's something money can't buy.:DMaking magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -

I do a lot of dressmaking and I buy most of my fabric from these two companies.
http://www.cheapfabrics.co.uk/thestore/
http://www.remnanthouse.co.uk/
Both have a set rate of postage no matter how large your order of around £4.50 which is a reasonable price considering the weight of fabric.
I also use jmm marketing for haberdashery and basic fabric like lining. Delivery is free for orders over £10. They will send out a free catalogue if you request one.

I was going to buy a plastic bag holder and had seen a lovely material one, luckily before I parted with my pennies I realised I could make one myself so that is going to be my next project, all I need to do is get some elastic and choose the material from my big bag of material.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
