Hi
I thought I'd give a quick update as to what I've been up to.
Just finished a 15point OU course!
I've started another messenger bag, mint green velvet with floral lining, will be nice for summer I think. The cotton velour was £1.75 meter so total bargain
I bought a pack of 3 tea towels from home bargains the other day, i think they cost £1.50. 2 are going to be made into a cushion cover (retro floral patterns) and the other one (pink with white spots) a peg bag.

I'm not going to add a zip, just make an envelope back!
i've strated to crochet a bag that was in Let's Knit a few months ago, it came with free bamboo handles. I've never been a great fan of knitted or crochet bags as things like pens tend to poke through, but now I can use a sewig machine I'll be able to make a liner for it!
And I've been very naughty and ordered a knit kit to make a cup cake tea cosy:o

Wow all that sounds amazing karmacookie - I've got next week off so am hoping to get some serious sewing time in! Not sure my hubby has the same ambitions for the week but never mind.... Well done on the OU course :T :T :T- not easy with working and everything else.
I love messenger bags so look forward to seeing that.
Well done everyone else on your makes :T- I've just finished a change bag for my friend who is having a baby (details on my blog - daren't use photobucket again after it went crazy last time I logged in!). The bag included a bottle bag and a covered nappy mat - I fell in love with it but still managed to bring myself to part with it. My friend was very pleased so hopefully it will be well loved....0 -

I had photobucket issues last weekend too, it's a pain, seems to be ok for me now though.
Can you remember the taggies Stardrops posted a while back, well I made one for my brother's new baby and my brother-in-law's new baby, (they have just recently been born).
I bought the babies lots of bits to wear and gave the taggie that I made and both sets of people looked at me like I was mad, wondered what it was and when I explained just kind of shoved it out of the wayGuess I won't be making any more of them.
I felt really silly for giving them now, have any of you had a strange reception to any of your handmade gifts? You can stand there and agonize........

Thats such a shame kandipandi. He snuggles into it to go to sleep:A So just wait a few month and I bet they tell you how much they love it!Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Not really sewing, just cutting
i've been clearing out. I found an old long sleeved t-shirt, i still quite liked it but probably wouldn't have wore it again, so.... i cut it up the front and cut the sleeves to be 3/4 and now I have a nice cardi/bolero type thing for the summer!0 -
I have only just found this section of the forum. I have read the first few pages. It seeems that there are a lot of beginners that would benefit from some simple exercises to get used to their machines. You just need to print the sheets off, No thread needed.
You need to look on the web page below, there is a link at the right hand side of the page to Ubungsbogen.

If you find the exercises difficult to begin with, especially on the ones with curves, you might find it helpful to make your stitch a little bit shorter."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
