It's a lovely dress Rufus. You've done a really good job on it. Off to the ball Cinderella!
  • i can I joint he party? Have just recently discovered I love sewing :j

I joined a sewing group last year, but only made 1 dress the whole time. I have decided I think I will learn more and get more done if I just learn by myself, using tutorials, trial and error and youtube! I found in the class I was waiting for the tutor to come to me for advice and chatting to the other ladies, I didn't get much done. It's much better to just set some time aside at the weekend for sewing.

Recently I made a patchwork quilt for my guideson

then I made this a couple of weeks ago, I used a couple of tutorials online and adapted

I am currently making another quilt but afterwards I am intending on making a dress like this:

I am totally loving all the ideas and inspiration. Thank you ladies :T

Yes well done on your makes determined xx

I finished making some manicure sets this morning, that's 9 I have made, enough to fill a basket for the stall. Also finished off the birds and found a way to hang them so they look like they are sitting on a perch. Have made up pennants for some bunting too but not sure how long I need to do them yet until I can put up the gazebo and measure it. Not sure what else to make up for the stall, want some small bits but needs to be something that will sell lol.

Here are some of the dresses I have made for two of my grand-daughters. The tops are made In the Hoop, using my embroidery machine. The skirts are made using my sewing machine .

I make a lot pf pillowxase dresses for the Australian summer and of course make dresses similar to these for a charity that dioes work in Africa.

Thank you kind ladies for your comments and likes. I have so many things I want to make, I have the fabric stash and designs, it is finding the time to do this. I am living on building site, between remodelling the house and other things, life is chaotic.

I remarried three years ago, both of us are well past 60 and The Hobbit (new Hubby) decided he would help me modernise the house, I am a lucky old dragon. My kitchen is lovely, just needs new florring and some doors on the wall cabinets and then it is on with the rest of the house. I want time for sewing....
