    Hi everyone!
I'm a long time lurker and posted a few weeks ago asking for machine advice as I wanted to get a new one...welllll...My lovely husband beat me to it and bought me a beautiful Janome machine to replace my infuriatingly temperamental 20year old machine.
I'm pleased to say my love of sewing has returned since having my new machine and this little bag is one the first things I've made..bear with me, I've never posted photos before so apologies if it's bigger than it should be...don't be scared! ...

Thanks for the kind words folks.
Mitziliz, it's really simple to make the bags...basically cut a semi circle a bit lower than the neck line so you cut the neck hole off the tshirt, then cut the arms off sort of following the arm hole natural curve but going a little lower than the armpit seam, hem raw edges and sew the bottom closed (cut a bit off the tshirt if it's a big one and makes the bag too long.
If that didn't make sense have a look on youtube for tshirt tote bags, they'll explain it better than me!lol.

Thank you, I thought it was a vest type top and you had used the straps as the handles and the top was the neck :rotfl: Its even better now as more tee shirts to look through!

Nope, but when you cut it you're cutting into a vest top kinda shape, so you were half right. :D

here is the dress i made last week for my daughter its not perfect but its a good first effort. i am not a dress maker i attempted to make a very simple dress two years ago it literally was just two pieces of fabric with a chanel that you threaded fabric through to form straps.

This one was a little more challenging shall we say!

    Ok so I need help...
I decided (after some 20+ years of not doing any sewing apart from repairs, hems. Cushion covers) to make a dress. I haven't followed a pattern since school.
I have cut the pattern out (1 size bigger than I need to allow for error),didn't remember about notches for darts etc and have done < instead of > if you see what I mean.
Then I decided to buy lining material but have no idea what to do or how to do it. I made a small start-sewing by hand (a bit frightened of my machine that is over 20 years old). I guess I'm worried I'm going to make a hash of it. Please help/advise?
    Thank you
