i have an electronic cutting machine so i dont use dies very often as i can design and cut any shape or font via my pc to my electronic cutter, but of the ones i do have i have cut fabric with them, i have a large flower, a cupcake, a scollop square and now the tumbler which is a quilting die so by definition should be cut from fabric.
although all my dies are by sizzix i dont have a hand cranked sizzix cutter i.e. big shot i use a cuttlebug cutter only because ive had it years but the dies i use fit the cuttlebug and do cut.
there are other hand cranked cutting machine on the market, ie wizard, grand calibre, but i think the big shot will cut mosts companies dies so most people tend to buy that machine.
theres also the acucut i think they do various size machines and they cut fabric
