Hello ladies, theres some lovely makes, i'd love to learn to make the quilts.

I thought i'd show you one of my first makes - a present for a handmade secret santa. Really pleased with how it turned out so I made another in red and I'm going to make myself one the same as this one.

Love the quilt HMO - great colours.

Do you use a template for your shapes? I have only ever used squares.

    A rotary cutter
A cutting mat as big a one as you can afford mine is about 36 x 30 inches but we have a craft room and I am lucky enough to have a dedicated sewing table so it's on top of that all the time
A quilters ruler again as big as big as you can afford mine is about 6.5 x 24 I have a handle for it that fastens on with suction pads

For the tumbler shapes I used a sizzix die in my cuttlebug I can cut 8 shapes out at a time the quilt above has 64 so it was cut in no time details on my blog

For the fence rail I just used a rotary cutter and ruler
