    hi

the secret is have the gusset on the bottom and at the point where you make the turn ie like at a corner or in my case the ears and tail you make a very small snip in the gusset and turn your top fabric only.

when i made the spotty one i think i had the gusset on the bottom, but when i made a blue one the other day i had the gusset on top and it all went pear shaped!

this one i put the gusset on the bottom and did the snip trick and its fine. its alot crisper in its finish

It looks lovely HMO, well done for working it out. That's how they tell you to do the box cushions that have a gusset which I was using for my sofa when I did it. Didnt put the two and two together until you mentioned about clipping the corners as you turn and that's what I had to do with them.

Oh wow, that is so beautiful HMO, well done to you. I will have to save the page for the corners, I can never "get" how to do them lol. I have another quilt on the go but stopped doing it while making stuff for my craft fairs but after Christmas I can go back to it.

Fabulous quilt HMO - well done!

My Mum has been ill and in hospital for 3 weeks so I have been a bit busy, but trying to do bits in between visits, phone calls etc

  • Hi :) I signed up for a dressmaking course locally and have really enjoyed it. It finishes Monday 10th Dec I have made a skirt and am putting the finishing touches to it next week. I am now loving sewing even though I am only new to it, but am so proud of what I have learned and made. The tutor is lovely and most patient:) Hoping to sign up for another class after Christmas
Do a little kindness every day.;)

Well done Margaret, and good you have such a lovely tutor. Try and get a photo done of the skirt when its finished, would love to see it. Its very satisfying to actually make something that you can wear xx
