Today I have been making christmas cards. Not my favourite thing, as my Mum makes such beautiful ones, so I hate to compete but needs must. Finances have been hit quite hard by helping the family, and now I am feeling the pinch myself. Like so many others at the moment.
I don't really 'do' any crafting other than sewing but when I found this blog I had a change of heart - I've made about half of our Christmas cards this year and a few special people are getting the present of a set of cards with something relating to their hobby, job, collection sewn on the front.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Hi I wonder if you crafters could help me with a quick question? I'm due to get a new nephew soon - we aren't that close as a family but I'd like to give a nice present anyway and a baby blanket seems like a good option. Do you know of any simple patterns that you have tried and tested and have worked out ok?
Thanks
SAs God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again0 -
Hi ScarlettOHara
I recently made a personalised towel for a new baby. It was a white fluffy towel with blue fabric letters cut out, spelling the name. I heat bond them and stitched round in a contrasting thread. I have done these before for lots of gifts and I have always found they are very well received.
Im really sorry but im still a newbie and I havent worked out how to post pics, but i would be very happy to post a pic when i have worked it out.
Good luck with whatever creation you choose.0 -
Hi everyone, just wanted to ask about overlooking machines. I have been using my janome sl 30x for a year and am really enjoying it. tarted to make a dress with a friend, sofar so good, and I am addicted! my machine is computerised and has in built overlooking, so do I need to buy a separate overlocker? I am not sure how these machines work compared to the built in stitch on my machine?" I refuse to allow the banker to be the only one who laughs!":beer:0
