I use heavyweight interfacing for this, or cardboard. Would plastic not eventually fray the material?0 -
Just got an overlocker for my birthday - having found the overlocking option on my sewing machine - am hoping there is a big difference in the two as it must have scared my dear OH alot to go into a weird shop to get it.
might need help on how to use it - if the dog will ever let me sew in peace0 -

oddly, I am making a little shoulder bag as well, and my friend said use acrylic, cut to size at Homebase. Apparently you can get these thin sheets which are ideal as they are waterproof. or white denim, as dark may have dye which could run in the wash? he choice is yours!" Hi
Could any one tell me what is the best material to make a soft doll from, it will be for a 7 year old. Also where is the best place to buy fabrics from?

Hello, just tried to search and thought you guys may give the most appropriate answers. Does anyone buy fabric online? Just general stuff polycotton etc. Where are the best sites?
Thanks.

Yes it does but you can flip the blade out of the way if you don't want to trim as well as overlock0 -
You may also find info on the sewing room no chat thread. all sorts of links too shopsetc. I buy most of my fabric on line, and Jackies fabrics are good. I am accessing this from a kindle so not sur how to copy any links.sorry.
i have an overlocker and used it a lot when I was dressmaking and doing the many fancydress outfits that I did for the nursery.
I have had the overlocker for at least 18years and its worth its weight in gold really.
I am hoping it will have a lot more use aswell! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
