  • I remember ages ago promising before and after photographs of the duffel coat I re-lined. I've been wearing it for a few weeks and glad I could extend the life of a much loved coat.

MRN thats great. I have done that many a time, its so worth it when the coats are so expensive these days.
I have been doing very little at the moment. A few more hexagons for the black and white quilt thats about it.
I had wanted a better hand made christmas but things have been against me yet another year.!.
I love all the makes though. they really keep me inspired, if not a bit frustrated that I am not doing the same!.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

HMO; Your quilt is great the colours are great and that little birdie in the tree is a nice touch. Havn't done mitres on my quilts yet...maybe one day!

MRN; That's very mse the way you have re-lined your coat. It lives to fight another winter or so:D

Margaret; Bet you were thrilled with your skirt. The sewing courses are really worth it. I wish they taught them in schools.

Finished this quilt for my dd to replace one that I made for her but was turned into a wall hanging....oops!
I did think that beige would be boring, but I have to say I think I'm going to make one for myself ;)

Hi, I have a Janome J3-24 that I've never used (I have never used a machine before). I have lost the instructions in my house move and now don't even know how to load on the thread. do you know where I can get a copy of the instructions?

Have you tried just Googling the name of the machine plus instructions to see if there is anything online? If not there might be a video on You Tube showing how to thread a machine, most of them are very similar so you should be able to follow how to do it.

    Hello x
I dont usually post but do lurk x

Anyway I wanted to give you information about a new sewing competition that will be televised in March 2013 around 8pm on BBC2. It is made by the same company who produced The Great British Bakeoff and is exactly along the same format. It has May Martin as the Mary Berry figure and is called The Great British Sewing Bee x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
