I love the patterns, and the fact that you just trace off the things that you want all for the price of less then one packet pattern.

I've never heard of them before, but I've just had a look and I could happily wear those clothes. I think I'm going to have to buy some!

Oops, sorry didnt mean to make you spend!
I have now got about 8 different magazines of theres. Perhaps I should start promoting them on my Web. I will see about it when i get back off of holidays.
I used to do the Kwik Sew patterns but they have recently changed thier System in Europe and its a different distributor, and a different price range etc, so I havent bothered. If I ever get my work space back it might be an idea to have an on line shop myself! mmmm..... ifs and buts I suppose.:D
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

I can't believe I haven't found The Sewing Room on MSE earlier!!! Here's my recent peg bag make - my old one disintegrated so I reused the hanger, printed off this pattern and cut some curtain fabric I got from freecycle.

I've just been thinking about how awful I am at wrapping presents and have decided I am going to make a reversible gift bag for all my Christmas presents. Reversible so that the receiver can use it throughout the year. Now I just have to find a good tutorial and a good source of tasteful Christmas fabric. Any advice welcome.
  • Hi Whitesatin,

How about making the bag in plain red (outside for gifting) and patterned with red and other colours (inside for gifting). Make a Christmas gift tag, large from old Christmas cards to attach with Christmas ribbon.... that way useful inside and out all year round.

Just a quick update.Bought jacquard fabric from minervacrafts today(cant really tell from photo if its nice or not)thought if i didnt like it i could always sew my burda 7250 trousers pattern instead as i was about to order nice duck egg blue chino fabric for trousers.
Well that aint gonna happen, just noticed the burda sizing is a nightmare and cant tell what would be equivelant uk size.
After lots of googling and measuring,it turns out,i have a pattern thats too big :0
Time for me to look for something else and quickly as my class starts in just over a week.lol
  • Hi Tronlegacy,

Don't throw the pattern out.... you should be able to get some help from your course tutor with resizing it (although perhaps not your main project!).

    Tron

I like Mccalls patterns, here is a good site for browsing patterns and you can check the sizes by looking at the back page.

I think the lining is so that all the seams don't show when you take it off, so overall gives a much neater look. Is the embroidered denim all over embroidery, if so would it fray when you cut it? I havn't made any clothes for yonks so I'm a bit out of my depth now :o

Finished my mini sampler, which was quicker than I first thought. Some square were more complicated than others.
