Gosh, lovely, but I wouldnt have the patience to do something so fine!. I am far too impatient for results.
My hand sewing patchwork is slow enough!.

    Lovely work pennib....well done!!! :T:T

Nice to have small project you can finish quite quickly.

I am in the process of planning a Jazz Quilt for DS1...first off I need to workout how to cut up the half-metre of jazz-singers and players material I have. Two or three big panels, or lots of smaller ones? Decisions decisions! I can't plan the rest of the quilt until I know how big these larger blocks are going to be! I have other patterned material (jazz instruments on one and keyboards on another), as well as a few plain ones to calm down all the busy patterns.

So far I have been playing with a photograph of the material and positioning rectangles on it to see what looks best....quite a mind-boggling project I have here!!! Think it's a bit advanced for only my third quilt (second one not finished yet!)??? The blocks will (probably) be simple ones, but you never know...watch this space!!!

Will pop on later in the week to let you know nhow it's going (or not!).

That sound's really interesting Keiss. Good idea to take photos and then cut them up to see how they fit together. The material sounds right for a male, which can be harder to find.
My sampler is a bit more complicated than I thought, usually the way tho!

    Pennib your sampler is gorgeous!

Keiss the quilt sounds great, always better when a make is personal to that person, using their hobbies or interests in the design.

Finaloly finished my Loungerie Trio, the dressing gown for lazy weekends...what are those?! It's based on New Look 6072 but I modified it, making it a bit longer and adding a belt.

More pics and a review of the pattern on my homepage x

    Love it!
I have just been shortening a maxi dress into a summer dress for my holidays and then elasticated the rest of it and made it into a skirt. So two for the price of one!. Some how I seem to have amassed about 6 maxi dresses! How did I do that?
The rest of the sewing has been continuing on the black and white patchwork pieces, by hand infront of the TV in the evenings, and weekends.

I bought a pack of two glasses cases with these fasterers in poundland, so I could take them apart to use them to make my own with fabric. They came apart ok, but I haven't got round to making anything yet!

Thank you so much for this - bought some of these and they are great :money:

    Lovely sewing avstar, well done!!

Been cutting up paper templates for my son's quilt and have managed to get it down to three different block sizes....looking good so far!!

Going to work out what I want to do with them, and what blocks/strips to put in between them....and what colour...think my brain will be sorely taxed with this project!!!!

Off to the F£stiva! of Qui!l$ tomorrow at the N£C...will be wonderful, and shattering...can't wait!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone x

Im hoping someone from you clever lot can give me some, desperately needed, advice.
I am still a beginner at sewing and am about to start another 8 week sewing course. For my project i have got butterick pattern B4929 misses jackets and i have not got a clue as to what material to use.
The pattern recommends velveteen(not keen),brocade(cant find any under £10 a metre),broadcloth(cant find at all) and linen(prob best option).
I am having to use fabric stores online as i cant get to a shop before my lessons start.
Does anyone know of what fabric i can get online that would be suitable.
    thanks in advance. :)
