Shiprob I love the bags too! Love the applique on the front of yours.

Well I've been using my sewing machine! I started to get a bit of a mental block with it after my made my cushion covers.
So I promised my sister who lives in Oz that I'd make her some bunting for the new cottage they've just moved into. That way I had to get my machine out!
First pic is a mouse I've been working on from the Mollie Makes magazine.

He still needs his head and clothes. My hand sewing leaves a lot to be desired! Here's the link to them.

And here's sisters bunting. It's twice as long as on the photo. Was really pleased as I've never made bunting before!

I recently celebrated my "ahem" 40th birthday. With my birthday money I bought a sewing machine. I did GSCE Textiles 25 yrs ago, and this was the last time I picked up a sewing machine.

I couldn't wait to get started.
I made 5 calico shopping bags over last weekend. I am trying to post some pictures.

Well you certainly picked up where you left off. They are great bags. Looking forward to seeing your aprons and kiddies bags.

Dizzy Lizzie; there is nothing like getting the mind focused by being asked to make something for someone. Great bunting your sis will be pleased and the little mouse will look super cute when you've finished him.:T

With my machines being in all different places from my fabrics etc etc, I havent done much but I did turn 3 tops into cushions for BF's daughter who is at university.
Was a bit of a jigsaw puzzle with one of them, as it was a strange shape and I had to fill in the neck line and the armholes. But its done now.
I may go and look at my Molly Makes again, and see if I can get some inspiration to work on something else. Get me back into the swing of sewing, I have been missing it, but the longer it is left the harder it seems to be to get back into the zone and start.
I have been scribbling down the odd idea for a bag that one of the hairdressers wants me to make, and yesterday I put in a fabric order for some funky fabrics from Germany. They were reduced from something silly like €45 and got it for somewhere around €3.99 so thats something I am looking forward to receiving.
My Christmas ribbons and my Best of British ribbon came yesterday. So I have plenty of stuff to use, and to work with. Just need the inspiration. Back copies of all my magazines need to be re visited I think!. I have enough of them.

Hi Guys, I know I am breaking a cardinal sin by posting somebody elses work but as I am due to have my first baby I really want to make one of thesse memory bears I have come accross but I cannot find a pattern! If anybody can help point me in the right direction I would be very grateful! I can pretty much sew straight lines atm so it will be a challenge lol. I like both the the teddy and the bunny!

Hi Henna123, I've had a google for you. Lots of bears but no specific pattern. Some say they have just adapted to make the bears.
But I did find this link which might help
I'll just see if I can find you a bear pattern to go with it...
If you click here there are free teddy bear patterns. I've not looked at any but there seems a few to go on. Good Luck

My Tilda mag arrived today, along with its free fabric and patterns to make a small purse with a toggle fastening. So to get me back into the sewing mood I had a go at it. Have cut out some pieces for a different one, but will need some lining and toning fabrics to complete.
I spent all morning reading the mag, and looking at all the projects. oops.
There is to be a school summer fete at the nursery in July and the babysitter suggested a take a table there. So I will see if I can get myself to make a few more simple things that are cheap and chearful to make and sell. If I get going I may just get a table.

Love the little dress. I actually saw some lovely T.towels in the pound shop a few weeks back, and bought two of them, intending on turning them into something for DGD to wear. So I shall have to get going.
Still not got the picture of the bunting from the babysitter, forgot to ask today. I am so absent minded at times.
