Great minds eh pennib!! Have fun with the quirky T town!

Been using the Inktense pencils this morning...loving them, especially the Deep Indigo!! Used them to add the houses along the shore, as well as some blocks (you know, those put up in the war to prevent a german landing). I used a bit of the opaque fabric paint, mixed with pewter, to add highlights to the houses and blocks (didn't get white in my Inktense tin)...really effective. Also added texture to the mountains and cliffs as well as the sea, so really happy with how it's looking so far. "All" I need to do is the foreground...I plan on having grasses and a few flowers.just playing with a few drawings first before I get the thread out. It will mostly be machine sewing, so I need to get it right first time!! ;)

Off to draw the stems and paint the leaves onto the Iris picture, before heading out into the garden...so much needing to be done there too! Think it's a good idea to do a bit, then go away and do something else while it dries, before doing anything more. Good to see how things are building.

So getting a wide variety of bits and pieces done today...:j. Had some of the soup I made this morning for lunch, also helped DH put up a pulley into the conservatory. It looks really good, can't wait to use it!!

Forgot to say last night, love your sock monkey
lesleyp1978, well done:T:T One day I will have a go at making some, I even have a few socks lined up to use :D!!

Right, I need to get back to my pictures....have a great weekend everyone x

Really looking forward to seeing your makes Kiess. I've been procrastinating with mine, but the garden beckons while we have our spring/summer rolled into one up here:D

Pictures coming along well, and even managing to get some gardening done too!!

Need to iron the Iris picture to set all the colouring I have done. Then I can get it ready for quilting...scary!! I also need to choose the fabric for the sailing boat...got a picture drawn I am happy with now.

Back to it all again, have a great day xxx

  • Been lurking rather than sewing recently but after a long break, the sewing machine has finally come out to play! I did hand sew a felt heart for one of my friends, and this evening I've used the machine to make a fabric tray. Now to get on with the rest of the projects. Going to do another patchwork cushion cover and one of my friends has requested a lunch bag tote. Am also considering having a go at a quilt for my baby niece / nephew due in May, not sure if being over ambitious though as would be complete novice at quilting!
  • I bought one of the sewing kits they had in Aldi today for only £3.49. They had a variety of different ones but I got the one with the cotton reels and the matching bobbins in.

Anyway, I have yet to master anything else on my sewing machine but thought you may like to see Morris! He is my 4th sock monkey ...well, sock cow! I am quite pleased with him but still not sure on his eyes.!

    Lovely cushion hmo!

Love the sock-cow lesleyp1978...know what you mean about the eyes, looks great though!

I had my beginners quilting group yesterday, learned lots of different techniques, hope to put them into practice soon, but today is computing day (paid work)...with a bit of gardening thown in. I might sneak in some sewing in too, though I have my last evening book-keeping class tonight, not that I am making any moey crafting atm!! :o:o

Better get on with what paid work I do have then, have a great day everyone xx

  • loving the sock cow Lesley, both the sock monkey further up the page and the sock cow are great! I'd like to know how to make one of those. Is there a tutorial or anything somewhere?

Love all the makes. I have had to put sewing on the back burner for a bit as had a few busy days. Anyway, I am still waiting for some toggles to come from an Ebay seller. They are coming from Hong Kong or somewhere distant and I ordered them beginning of the month and not turned up so they reckon they sent out some more on Friday so hopefully this lot will come. I need them for the back pack I made. I have another one ready to sew up but want to make sure i get the toggles first.

The weather is too nice as well to be stuck in doors so we have been getting the garden sorted while we have the chance.
