    Keiss - lovely makes xx

I did a bit of sewing today. Made a back pack style of bag for my SIL for Christmas. Got all the sewing done, I need to get a bit of cord to go round the top and waiting for toggles to come from Ebay seller to finish it off then I will take some pics.

    Hello Everybody!

    (Hello Rufus, a familiar "face"!)

Secondly could any of you advise me as to either of these

would be a good buy as a first time machine? I only want to do a few little projects a month, maybe a few gifts, clothing repairs and eventually I would love to try and make a quilt. I know nothing about sewing machines so would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me.

    Thank You x x

So really you only get one mag for £1 as the special offer has to be cancelled within 60days by post, or you have to pay the whole whack.

Can I also ask, I am considering buying an Argos value range sewing machine as it is in my budget. I am very new to sewing so I would like advice if this is a good one.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Pip's Mum xx

I think both those machines look good for a beginner if you are only going use them now and then. I think the pink one would be a bit too much for me lol but if you like pink then go for it xx

Most machines will surfice for the jobs that you want, if you are not going to be a daily user. Even if you are, they will be fine. Its only if you start to get into specialised sewing, that the machines may let you down.
As long as you can sew straight stitch, zigzag, and buttonholes, then thats all you need. All the other bits and pieces are a bonus. As you get better in life you may outgrow a machine, but it may stay with you for years and years. Keep it well maintained and you should be ok.

I looked at their terms and conditions. In the past you could email to cancel and you did get 3 lots of mags. But cos it's post and only 60 days now, I thought that it would be one mag to make sure that I didn't get any money taken out by them. (if that makes sense!)

I must read the terms and conditions on things.
    Terrible at not just lately.:o
But I thought the idea was more of a try before you buy as such and really the £1 covers the postage. they are usually hoping that you will like the mag, and continue withit, and the DD will cover that.:)
If you get even 1 issue your money is usually covered.
If people had to buy more than the offered issues, then I doubt many would take up the offers?? But thats me and my way of thinking.
I am considering trying the Molly Makes magazine, but then I think I have so many projects to still do from all the mags of the last year that I shouldnt be buying anymore though?!

I wouldnt be buying a magazine to get tickets to the stitching exhibition though, as I will not be able to go this year.
Sorry < I am not sure if this is coming across correctly today? I feel rather ubrupt, but thats not what I am intending.
note to myself... just have a read of the T & C's then I will know where I stand and I wont have to second guess anymore.:(
