Thank you everyone so much for your help. I could kick myself because i had 3 metres of cord then cut it and not in half!!! in my effort to sort it. I shall try for the toggles of not will try to get some more cord.

I really enjoyed making it so it would be a shame not to be able to do one again.

I shall try the photobucket way and see if I can get some photos up here.

    Thanks again everyone.

Can you not join the cord so it can be hidden inside the channel? seems a shame to have to purchase more. It could be sewn together, so as not to have a knot in it? or bound with threads together, then stitched through? :D

  • The bags I have made use the thicker cord (for curtain tie backs etc) it was a bit of a squeeze to get it in to the channels but the bag does up really well without the toggles. I really wouldnt bother buying toggles but buy more cord.
If the cord is too short, you will have trouble opening the bag fully. One of my bags didnt open fully as the cord was about 10cm shorter than I needed but I didnt want to waste the cord so I just used it. The bag still opens more than enough to use it.

Not sure if this pic is clear enough to see how the cord is threaded through?

IMG_3740.JPG and you can see how they don't need toggles to keep them done up.

Afternoon all, I have made a bag for my sister for Christmas. Here is a pic. I dont want to put it on my blog in case she sees it.

I am thinking of may be making a loyalty card holder to go with it but not decided yet.
  • You're on the ball with your sister's Christmas present Rufus!
I like the fabrics you've used.

Oh Christmas presents! I still havent thought about the birthdays etc this year. I really need to get my act together. Lovely bag Rufusdog.
I had a bit of a health relapse this weekend and couldnt even do any hand sewing. Struggled to do anything to be honest. Even typing this is rather agonising. Best I stop and rest up.
