Lovely makes Mooloo. I had that mini skirt and I charity shopped ages ago, love what you've done with it.0

I like the way you have used re-cycled material Mooloo. Your bags are really nice.
Thanks to everyone who commented on my cushion.0 -
Pennib, was it you who did the felting before? My daughter bought me a book for Christmas about wet felting to make scarves. I havent had a go yet but I bought a bag of yarn bits off EB at the weekend so I am going to have a go and see if I can make some nice ones for presents for Christmas this year. Was wondering if you did wet felting or was it the needle thingy (can tell I am not up on it lol).0

I've made up the pattern / dimensions from scratch and seeing as I've never done patchwork before, if it works out I will be amazed. Anyone got any tips on doing patchwork? Should I press each seam as I go along or wait till all done (sorry if silliy question, still learning)?
I'm sure my cushion won't be a patch on your beautiful one Pennib, it's lovely.
I'm in awe of all those people who can make clothes and follow patterns! Maybe I'll be able to do that one day.
I have only recently started patchwork and have found this site invaluable for tips and ideas http://tutorials.missouriquiltco.com/
Lots of videos to watch. The trouble is I spend so much time watching, before I know it it's time for bed and I still have got any sewing done.0 -
Thanks for the comments everyone.!
I do enjoy playing around with things and seeing what they will make. Especially bags out of clothes. I may get around to uploading some of them to sell, but will need to think about the pricing structure and the time I had taken to do it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Yes it was me and it was wet felting. I made a little mat which was quite easy to do just extremely....well wet!! (and messy) but was a new experience and have got some more roving to have another go at something at some point. Would like to have a go at needle felting, its on my long list of 'Things I would like to do' before I get to 100!0 -
Apologies if this has already been mentioned before.
I recently joined a forum of sewers, knitters and crocheters (is that a word?) who make items to donate to charities here and abroad http://www.lovinghands.org.uk/ We have recently be challenged to make fidget mats and aprons for alzheimer sufferers.
If you are interested and think you may like to make one here is the link with more info http://lovinghands.freeforums.org/spring-challenges-29thjan-to-28th-april-2012-t7146.html scroll to part two after the first knitting pattern.
If you have someone close to you who has the condition and would to make one for them this might help for ideas http://www.activitiestoshare.co.uk/c/1/touch-feel-smell
scroll down the page.
I'm fortunate in never had anyone in my life suffer from the later stages of alzheimers and had never heard of these mats before. I didn't know that sufferers continually pick at their skin until it is raw and bleeding or that they play with their buttons and zips undressing themselves in the process. These mats are aimed at giving them something to fidget safely.
If you feel you'd like to join in that would be great as I'd love to swap ideas.
Other sewn items are needed too if you would prefer making something different.0 -
