Please excuse the quality, it's early and my camera is a bit crap!

I think I am lagging behind on the sewing front for myself and family at the moment.!
Maybe I will get a bit more time later this weekend? Who knows, when I plan something somethingelse crops up!

Thanks all - I've already had enquiries about making advent calendars for people for next year, which is fantastic! I'm made up with the bunting - it look slovely on my shelf :)

Lovely pot mitt hmo. I always forget about youtube for tuts, but I think if I go there now I shall get lost and I just don't have time today - Monday maybe!

Off to down some ibuprofen, nine days of a headache and I'm giving in now!

  • I LOVE the advent calendars, so clever! I bought a little wooden tree with drawers from Next for our advent calendar, but I can't fit Celebrations or Quality Street in it - will just have to eat them without putting them in the tree boxes!

I'm having trouble with one of my presents - would someone mind popping over to my blog and having a look for me please? I can't get pictures to post properly on here. Thanks in advance!

    Well done PollysKettle!

I just had a look Sarah & your opening is across the biggest bit of the pillow - which is probably why it gapes. When I did DS pillow, I put the opening nearer to one end about 1/4 way down, which worked well. However, I should have overlapped the fabric more because It still gapes a little and you can see the pillow peeping out.

Maybe a press stud or velcro (easy option), or your option sounds lovely

Otherwise, I wonder if you sewed around it again, just 1/4 or 1/2 inch, if that would help. on one of the blogs I read, the lady always makes her cushion covers a tad smaller than the cushion pad so that you get a more rounded, puffy cushion. I imagine you would still get a bit of a gape but it might not be as bad.
  • Thanks very much Tamster, I guess you live and learn, next time I'll know better!
