  • Love the quirky village! Sounds like the one I live in, definitely quirky...

Bah hate the rain and being at work while it's raining, but OH out tonight so I can get on with some sewing - am altering a load of dressing up clothes for DD's preschool. The capes all had long ties on - and the kids were tying them round their necks and then dragging each other around  so I'm shortening the straps and sewing Velcro on to prevent this! Then this weekend I'm starting on Christmas presents for my DD and her friends. Was going to adapt a handbag design to be smaller (yay for photocopiers!) and trim with beads and sparkles and all things that 4 year old girls like - so they all have their own wee grown up bags. Means I get to go shopping for pretty things! Yay! Pattern is the Tabitha bag by Flossie teacakes, it's easy to make and looks fab when done. I need to start making my own designs, just not quite got enough confidence yet...

Am very much enjoying all your lovely makes.

Pennib your village piccie is just too cute !

I got a Kindle recently and love it more than words can say - when they first came out I thought I'd hate them. They are only good for novels and wordy books in my opinion though, no good for lovely big sewing books with glossy colour pages :rotfl: I've got a cheaper faux leather cover for it but def want to make a nicer cover for it. Ta for the links. (love the word faux, sounds so much better than fake/PVC or my pet hate...pleather...urgh!)

Mysk - gawd you've got to have the eyes of a hawk with kids LOL! If they can do something dangerous ...they will!

  • Love that kindle case! Might have to get one just so I can make the case. A friend has an iPad, so might adapt for this...

That kindle case is lovely. Really love the design of it. Look forward to seeing it if you decide to make this one.

Pennib, I really love your designs. Have you thought about approaching art galleries to display/sell them? I go to an art festival every year and have seen similar designs but none as nice as yours. x

OOh Thanks Pootle for the compliment. No I have never asked any art galleries I'm not confident enough for that I'm afraid, although I did show one in a little exhibition that we had up here. I really enjoy making them to people's photos and re-creating them with my wild imagination! But the recipient recognises all the important features in the picture.

Hi everyone, I am back off of my holiday and will be back sewing on Monday.
I have been experimenting with small squares of fabric, hand stitching them together, and quite pleased with it. I think that i will have a few squares around to sew when I am sitting in the chair resting instead of being on the laptop all the time! Well thats the theory anyway. Will try and go back and check through all the makes I am sure I will have missed tomorrow. Just too tired today.!
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
