Good morning everyone
I love all the makes :T you have all done some beautiful sewing
The craft fair turned out to be a bit rubbishall the crafters were not happy as we were all shoved into a greenhouse, there was also a CB in the field, as the marquee could not hold all of us. We had to use the potting tables and there was no room for the customers to walk down the middle and look at things either side as they all got pushed on
I sold 1 phone holder then packed up at 1pm as my stuff was getting dirty and I was bored, my mum sold loads on the CB and said people didn't want to spend too much money
I did have a quick look at some of the other crafters things and the sewing stuff was great, I also have some great ideas for things to sew
I have another CF at work in November so I have lots to sell then :rotfl: I have also had 3 friends want to buy my bags so not a great loss and more experience for me
I have come home with loads of fabric too

There was a "Range" store opened last week - I went today - really disappointed - they just had PVC and Voile. I have been to Range stores while away in the Midlands - lots of fabric choice.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I don't have many CB's here, they are too early in the morning for me :rotfl:
I love going to my mum's in Norfolk, the CS's are brill for stuff, I got 2 pairs if jeans and a very long denim skirt for £3 so I can use the fabric
My friend who passed away last yr used to do lots of quilting so her OH had a sort out of her fabrics and gives it to me, I had a bin bag full this time I went over.
I also went in a shop where they do made to measure curtains and got 5 little sample curtains for a £1 eachthey all have linings too and one is a vibrant turquoise velour so can't wait to use it
Welcome Little_ Sarah
I had a big sort out of my fabric yesterday and put it all into colour so I can see what I have, I have far too much :rotfl: so need to get sewing again

Yeah, I made it. I've finally read every single post, phew!
I nearly caught up a few months ago, but then changed my phone to a rubbish one, and that slowed me down a bit. Went backt to my old phone, so finished reading this morning.
In my teens, I used my Mum's old machine and used to make my own clothes, and have made several bits with my Mum's help, but not done any for at least 10 years.
About 5 years ago, and prior to MSE, I bought a pair of jeans that were expensive for me (£25) and was determined to turn them up, rather than wear out the bottoms. I impressed upon my ever supporting husband that it was essential that I had a new sewing machine for the task, and based upon a Which report bought a Janome XR33 at a cost of about £300. I'm ashamed to say, the first time I used the machine was a couple of months ago. What I did find out though, is that I bought a lovely machine!
My son's nursery relies on it's fundraising for all the extra's, so they have a Christmas Fayre each year. I've set myself the task of sewing stuff to sell on their behalf for this November. The problem is because I've seen all your makes, I've convinced myself that I'll be as good as you lot, so I might have overstepped the mark!!
I've enjoyed scouting the CS's in our little high street and have bought some fabric from Ikea. I've also been keeping my old clothes for years, in the hope that I'll do something with them, so supplies are not the problem.
I am looking forward to getting started once he goes back to Nursery next week.
Like everyone else on here, I have a list of things to make/mend that's far to long, but you're really spurring me on, so thanks.
Sorry to have gone on, and on, but I've had to wait for over 10,000 posts to put a reply on!!0 -
Hi canspendmore and welcome!

Dancing butterfly, I made something similar for my DH's cousin:
I used http://www.cherrymenlove.com/crafts-how-tos/2009/11/how-to-sew-blanket-stitch.html to help figure out how to do the blanket stitch round the ends and found it really useful x0
